Well, if X8 had 3.2Mpix camera with autofocus, I would have chosen it over X10 mini pro. 3.2Mpix is more or less ok for a phone camera. But the lack of the autofocus was the major drawback for me. If X8 had autofocus it would become a rival to X10 mini (same functions, bigger screen). and SE couldn't let it be that way. |

Rikard Skogberg stated in the comments of the SE blog that the X8 should be available in two weeks in Nordic countries.
I have the x10 and the mini pro, if this phone had autofocus and a 5mp camera I would get it, but the lack of those 2 things is surprising.

I agree. But its still a decent offering at the price point its slated to launch. I'm just hoping that the 3.2 mp cam can take decent pictures.

Does anybody have any links to a review or something? It's been really quiet out there and am eager to know how the device performs.
Btw..X8 is slated to be available for around Rs 14000 in India although no confirmed info on whether we'll get the mh810 headset and the interchangeable back covers.

although X8 is not good in terms of mobile photography, it is much better than x10 mini because of its screen resolution coz you can install unlimited no. of applications on x8.
For public developers, they are more interested on the bigger screen resolution.

I am more concerned about X8 inability to work with barcode reading normally, not about mobile photography. Barcode reading is a really useful Android feature. And I find it unacceptable that it can't function like it should because of phones camera specifications.
BTW X8 is officially available on SE site (the "coming soon" is gone). |

Thanks but that preview's pretty old. Am waitin for some new ones.

yea..that is indeed a negative. The lack of an AF is an issue although i'll miss the flash just as much.
The screen resolution is great for apps but the internal memory is only 128mb I heard. And Android 1.6 only allows apps to be installed in phone memory.
But it's still a great buy as long as value additions in the form of timely updates is assured.
Btw..does X8 have 256mb RAM?

Feature wise it is exact same as X10 mini, so yes it has aGPS+GPS.
