I wonder if i upgraded to the £45 tariff i could get the 16GB a little cheaper, just wondering what to do, you don't get anymore txt for the extra £10 and i never use the minutes much, or just pay the £159 and add a bolt on.
Decisions, decisions!
If you go to the £45 tariff, you will save £100 on the price, however that will be an extra £180 over the 18 months for something you will not use, therefore actually costing you £80 more, if you follow.

Yeah, that's the thing i know it'll have to be 16GB without a doubt, but i hardly use the minutes and tend to go over on texts so i'm better off staying on £35 with the £7.50 bolt on i think. The price is pretty decent.
One more thing, you have to sign up for another 18 months, so is that 18 months from 11th July or 18 months at the end of your current contract which for me is July 2009?

I just been reading GSM Arena and never realised that with the 3G iphone things are changing. You can get it for free and taking one home to connect via itunes will no longer happen. The networks are now going to subsidise the phones and can offer them free thus connecting in store to the network. This will cut down on the jail breaking so they say. |

Perhaps then CPW will sell these sim free eventually. |

@Bonovox
I noticed that quite a while ago and am pretty sure many of the new features won't work unless you are on an properly activated tariff. So i can't see how you can buy one in the first place and even if you do mange it and jailbreak it i doubt the functions you can use will make it worthwhile. I also seriously doubt CPW will have them Sim Free.
It looks like Apple and the Networks have learnt from their experience and have found a solution to stop it and with the price drops new software and app store maybe it isn't so necessary now either.

Perhaps one day it will be on pay as you go then. Its got to one day surely its not really fair on customers who want one and who cant get a contract like me. I have no debts any longer but have poor credit rating and in the past O2 was one of my bad debts written off. Oh dear. So cant get contract with them. |

The best phone ever just got better. I look at Shiho and then look at this and although a year on its mostly the same iphone it still wipes the floor with everything else.

I think alot of people are gonna be disappointed with battery life on this baby. Take the heartbeat intervals to mobileme + 3G + screen real estate= charging twice a day.
One reason for moving to Blackberry was the heartbeat interval of exchange, it is so unreliable. It was so much worse on SE phones that if it didnt sync to the exchange after x times it would disable itself, leaving you thinking you havent received any emails.
I am not bashing the phone at all, but I have come along way from form to function, and I am very pleased with the blackberry OS. I look forward to the release of the BOLD which means I can use it in Japan.

I was thinking about that myself last night
Apparantly the standby times and call times are increased for this model suggesting they have either reduced the component drain or increased the battery capacity from 1400mAh / 3.7volt.
Unfortunately I couldn't find anywhere that confirms the new battery size yet and we may have to wait for a teardown before we know for sure
