I am waiting for the announcement with the hope that the P700 will be out soon. I had been keen to buy the M600 but decided to wait for its replacement so I hope it will be out for sale soon. |

s500 is quad band so yes it will work in North America. But it will also work every where else dont worry about that.....  are offering more for US people this year, so some phones will have quadband for them..... again we can still use them in Europe, asia pacific etc.....

p700 (alias p1) as a p990 sucessor just sucks
don't get me wrong, it's a very nice phone(p700), but i'm counting for
something really mind blowing |

whoever says that the p1 is the successor of the p990? i don't think so, even if mobileburn thinks so. it's more likely a sucessor of the m600, except SE might be integrating the M series into P series seeing as no camera devices does not hold much allure for the end-market. |

It's not the P990's successor, but it does succeed (and replace) the P990. Just so everybody's clear on that...

that's a paradox, mate. how can it not be the successor and yet suceed the p990? i think it's nothing to do with the p990, it's just a filler while SE work on the real thing. |

A lot of people don't want to think of the P1 as a successor to the P990 because it's not in the flip tradition of the P800/P900/P910/P990, but it is a P series and it does replace the P990 in the lineup, for however long, so I think people need to get over that. Personally, as a happy user of the P800 and P910 for three years, I think the M600/P1 arrangement is better...
