@benitorios
While working at AT&T a few months ago.......
I did have it in my hand for about 5 minutes during a meeting. I was not impressed. Although I did not get to try it for longer than that, due to a short presentation, I really was not impressed. I left the company two days after that and did not have the opportunity to test it further.
Frankly, it's not that big of a deal phone. I do remember a co-worker trying to make a call and complaining about how cumbersome it was to make a call. Had I stayed there, I would have been given a unit before the general public would get it's hands on this over rated phone.
Never the less I don't regret leaving. And yes I did try it for 5 minutes, I really wasn't impressed...

It's easy to see why this was released in America first. Everyone here thinks its the greatest phone ever because we don't know any better. Most people have no idea what options are in an SE phone because most people have never seen a SE phone. The phone works for those people because they don't really care about the expanded options because they don't know that they exist, but the people on this forum will care and it will cause you to not think of it as highly as someone who has only owned a RAZR their whole life.
he he :=)

edit. when i said kind of crappy, i also meant the "inside" of the phone.

As one of the few north american posters on this board I'll just say that I got to play with the Iphone and it's not worth switching IMO. It's easy to see why people love the phone so much, because when you play around with it, it looks nice. It has interesting menu animations and the whole touch screen concept it fun to use for a while because its new. But as an experienced mobile user like most are on this forum, you notice the short comings almost immediatly. The camera is what you would expect for a 2 mp with no auto focus, and even worse is that you have no options for different picture types or styles. It's also a pain to multi task on, since everything requires 4 or 5 menus to shift through, and since many tasks don't have a back button, if you click on something you don't like you have to go back to the home screen and start all over. You also can't do things like see what applications you have running to figure out why your phone is slowing down.

As you can read here, http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/ptech/07/03/iphone.ap/index.html
the iphone is really just another Samsung phone, because it is driven by a Samsung processor. No way Jose.

Sadly, I have decided to move on from SE to the iPhone (got one 3 days ago). I've been an SE fanatic for the past 4 years and have been totally brand loyal buying only the T610, K700, K750i, and K790a. I LOVE SE and have recommended their phones to countless people.
I know I must sound like a traitor, but once you get your hands on the iPhone, you will fall for it. It's stunning not only in form but function as well. The interface blows everything else out of the water, it's absolutely gorgeous and incredibly user friendly. No exaggeration, the interface is 2-3 years ahead of even the latest phones on the market. I find a lot of these negative posts hilarious because they clearly haven't seen or used the iPhone, or they just don't get it.
I was a huge skeptic of the touch pad, but I have to say that after only a day of practice, I've mastered the key sensitivity and type faster and navigate faster than any other phone I've tried. And I mean significantly faster. I can't believe I suffered through standard keys for so long, the touch pad is so much better. Plus it allows for more usuable screen space!
The SMS works like IM (brilliant), creating threads of your conversations versus receiving single messages that go in and out. I always thought it was such a royal pain on my SE phones (and others) to visit my inbox and then head back to my sent folder, etc. The IM format solves the problem.
The 3.5" color screen is stunning, incredible actually...it looks like HD. The overall size of the iPhone, of course, is a bit bigger than my current K790a, but only by a small fraction in height and width. However, the iPhone is literally half as thick as the K790a, so it makes up for a lot by lacking girth. It's thinner than the RAZR actually.
The iPod, photo gallery and YouTube are all fantastic as well. So easy to use, and beautiful color images, amazing video quality. This thing brings a tear to your eye, and trust me, I am not an Apple freak. It's insane how great this device is.
The internet experience is mind boggling, it soooo nice to finally access all of the web. Granted, you can't see flash or java, but you still get animated gifs, crystal clear typography and can link just as you can on a computer. The WiFi perfoms quite well, it switches from EDGE once it detects a faster network. And EDGE actually isn't that bad, it could definitely improve, but I can live with it...not too painful as some would argue. BTW, Opera mini doesn't even compare to Safari on iPhone.
So the phone itself. Wonderful. Visual voicemail is genius. If you get 8 voicemails, they all show up at once on screen, just like email would. There's no waiting for the standard voicemail lady that forces you to wait 10-15 seconds before retrieving a vmail. And you're not forced to wait for all messages to play in order. The iPhone conveniently (understatement!) allows you to touch any of your messages and play them instantly. So awesome!!
For those suggesting that the iPhone would be a failure in the U.S., you couldn't be more wrong. Initial reports state that between 500,000 and 700,000 units have sold, with 80% being the 8GB version.
The following irritations will be updated soon by Apple via free software: 1) No MMS, 2) No video recording, 3) No copy/paste, 4) No mp3 ringtones [all of which are pretty shocking to believe weren't included in the first place]
My biggest gripe is the 2.0mp cam without flash. My 790a destroys the iPhone in this area. I'm a little disappointed that Apple didn't offer a better cam.
Anyway, I'm sad to leave SE, but until they can beat the iPhone, I probably won't come back - esp because I'm stuck with ATT for 2 yrs!

they have already beaten the iphone dude.
P1 is better. even the old P990 offers more.
UI interface looks nice on apple, but i found the symbian UI on the M600 and upcomming P1 much better.
also the neonode N2 interface is better then that iphone.
so many people tempted by design. i myself can't say i hate the design, nore love it. i don't care much about design, i fell in love with the old ericsson design with was young, simple and straight.
anyway you know what they say:
traitors shell be shot

design isn't all about looks, it's also about functionality. yes, the iPhone is sexy, but it's quite powerful to boot.
and they also say it's better to jump ship before you walk the plank.

tbh i'm not keen on iPhone design, used to love iPod design but too common now just as iPhone will get.
I much prefer designs of k800, k810, w880, P1, N95, 8600 LUNA etc to that of the iPhone
