What I do is use the built-in Disk Utility application (in Utilities).

Click "New Image" and enter a name and location to save it.

Make the Size whatever you need (it can't be changed later so make it big enough).

Choose AES-128 encryption, and Read/Write format

Click Create, and enter a nice secure password when asked.

The disk image will mount on the desktop and you can fill it with your files.

When finished, drag the Disk Image icon (not the ___.dmg) to the Trash.

You can copy this .dmg file to anywhere, (e.g. USB Flash Disk) and when you want to access the files, just double-click it to mount the disk image.

No-one can access it without your password!

You know ichat can you add people with a hotmail address as buddies or do people need to have a .mac address or AIM name?

I would really like to use ichat as it has the built in isight facility to use which msn doesn't support but all of my contacts are on msn.

So annoying!!!

With iChat you can set it up to use Jabber which adds support for MSN, ICQ, IRC, GTalk etc.

Have a browse through the following links, which have a number of tutorials on setting this up:

http://www.google.com/search?[....]tacts%20in%20ichat&sa=N&tab=iw

I've never tried it myself, so can't say which links are the best!

Hmm thanks it was easy enough to set up but it is not very stable so think i will just leave it, plus there is no video support.

Just have to hope that msn add support sooner rather than later.

Thanks

Hi, ok I was playing with automator last night treying to make a wake up timer, basically I have my hi-fi connected to my pc via a wireless connection using a airport express bease station.

What I wan to do is start the pc, run automator, load itunes, set volume, play music in 10 min blocks, each time it switches off and somes back on I want it to increase in volume.

All I can do so far is load itunes, set volume then play music, o and boot the computer when I wan under the powersaving options.

Check out my sales

Yes.

You can also set the Mac to automatically wake/start up and sleep/shutdown using the 'Energy Saver' preference pane too (click 'Schedule')

There's this: Pause 2.1.1 and Shut Up 1.1 which may do what you want.

Have a search on www.macupdate.com for others...
