K750 / W800 Firmware Overview |

Packet video and packet video player is for symbian phones, neither the K750 nor the K700 are symbian phones and do not support packet video player. Both support streaming audio and video, but it has to be streamed in a compatable format like .3gp

Has anyone tried flashing the v800 firmware onto the k750i?
Any results? |

I guess you mean w800 not v800, and yes there are numerous threads about flashing w800 firmware to K750, please use the search function.

Hello, I'm a new member but used to read the forum for a long time.
Somebody here has posted:
My K700i was able to support online audio or video streaming.
My K750i can't. I just get a message "File type not supported by phone.
Download anyway ?" If I press "yes" it downloads a file called view.pxv in the
"other" folder on the phone.
I heard it's something to do with PV Player or Packet Video Player.
Does anybody have the same problem ? With which firmware ? My phone's got
the R1L002.
One year ago(2004) I was using a K700i with the French operator Orange: they were and are still using .pvx format for Orange World and I had the problem with my K700i.
if you answer ok then a small pvx type file (238 Bytes) called 'view' is stored in the 'Other' directory...
I agree that .pvx is for Symbian but many operators uses the .pvx format and most of the users doesn't have a Symbian phone...
So I decided to study the K700i White Paper that I found in th SE Developper Forum: The K700i playey CAN read the .pvx...
After many calls to SE France they finally admitted that it was a FW problem: they told me that .pvx will be compatible with the k700i player after a FW update of my k700i.
One month later I updated the K700i FW to R2AE033 EU_1 and it works until now.
Now I have called SE yesterday(08/21/2005) for the same problem with the k750i and they gave me the same answer: they are aware of the problem and I have to wait for the next FW and MAYBE it will works...
I'm currently using R1L002.
PS: I have tried this (using .pvx with Orange World France) with many phones here in France (one of my friends is selling phones for Orange so he let me try some models), and the problem is the same for the S700i, K500i etc or even the Samsung D500...(not the D500E Edge)
I can't uderstand why Sony/Orange (at least in France) doesn't verify with their new packages that the second major feature (after the calling one) of the offer is
ok before selling it.
This is the same problem for more than one year now.
In the contract they say: ... Great.
Hope it can help.

I cant understand why SE dont properly test their phones and why so long after the T610 that SE phones are still crashing.
Why was R1J released when GPRS was a dog? |

@O2 K750
maybe there is a problem with SE when testing their phones, but they want to be the first on the market before Nokia etc...
And also in my previous post, the problem was that for Orange World to work properly the phone had to have the behaviour of a smartphone...
I think that SE must explain this to Orange...

05W27 handset replacement today - If I store more than 39 files in a folder on the internal memory (not mem stick) then once again I cannot access them via USB. What is more, I stored 88 photos on internal memory from USB when re-building all the contents from the old phone from my PC. The internal memory status reported it had 21MB in 88 files although neither the phone nor the USB could access them. I had to perform a Master Reset to get the memory back.
Maybe this is an O2 FW problem I guess - still lets hope the later handset will stop crashing...still on R1L.

mybe you could take into consideration to update the firmware. i think there is some compatibility problem with the bluetooth of the nokia phones. i know that there motto is "connecting people" but basing from my experience they [nokia] dont do it too good. same as my k750i cant connect to samsung phones using IrDA. i know that its IrDA and not bluetooth but i think there is a connection, compatibility issues exsist and cant be avoided. |

a 'lemon' is american (and maybe also british?) for an inherently defective object -- something that was manufactured with multiple and/or serious problems that makes it not economically feasible to bother fixing. |

I wouldnt say its a common phrase in England, but i'm sure most people would understand if you said you had bought a lemon. |
