I was fortunate to have a few hours with the Arc today. Very nice phone. Immediate impressions are that it is much lighter than i thought and for its proportions is quite remarkable. In fact, it sat very well in the hand. It felt robust too and as a user of it's predecessor i can say that's no easy feat.
Screen is astonishing in clarity and the UI was very slick. Took a few photos and the HD camera was a marked improvement on the x10. Of course, this is running boggo standard software and in it's present form, it ran very well. I have some some high aspirations for this handset.

Don't forget the better sound. iP4 sound is just lower and I think when there's some rush it will become unclear..
I think the back noise-cancelling microphone might be used for video recording as it will make much sense than the regular calling microphone. or both can be used also...

Thanks for the info Popolou. It's all very encouraging so far.
What I would like to know if anyone has had any first hand experience of using the Arc outside, and give there opinion on how the screen fares in direct sunlight.

I have always thought that the gap between the top part of the Xperia arc and the top part of the display has been annoying. But then I gave it a bit of thought, and did some measurements on other devices to see how much the gap actually is. Here are some measurements (showing that the screen of the Xperia arc is actually not that far off the upper edge compared to other phones…). The distance between are from the top part of the screen and the upper edge of the phone. The percentage of the phones total height is also interesting to look at.
Xperia arc: 16.5mm (13.2% of the phones total height)
Xperia X10: 10mm (8.4% of the phones total height)
Xperia X8: 16.8mm (17% of the phones total height)
Samsung Galaxy S: 16.0mm (14% of the phones total height)
Apple iPhone 4: 19.3mm (16.8% of the phones total height)

@Gud When you don't trust your own eyes, math is always the solution
@Xajel No one has owned it yet, and if someone had it for some time it has been a pre-fw and not to be judged upon

What is the call clarity like?? As the new Xperia range all have HD voice it should be better than the piss poor x10 earpiece. Also is there a HDMI cable in the box?? I ask as I am getting Neo with same specs. Thanks
