Nokia release full log details of what improvements there are in each release and have done for both the last firmware upgrade for the N93 and the next one due any time now. So we know what to expect from them it's really not that difficult and is far more likely to keep users happy IMO.

Just got myself the P990i (second time)
Just wondering if I should update to R7, its now on R4 or wait till R9??
Any suggestions?

Make a backup and update to r7a...then you can see how the bugs and the phone is improved before the r9 fw.

That doesn't appear to be relevant to the SE Symbian phones no mention of M600 or P990 there? Nokia release the notes so they are official.

But as we are in the P990 firmware thread and are talking about companies flagship models i think it is only right to assume that's what we are talking about. But the answer is quite simple Nokia do and SE don't.

So how did you manage to get a new phone? Did you speak to sony ericsson tell them the problems your having with your phone? And they just exchanged it for another phone? I have the p990i on Orange branded and want to get an un-branded one. Will sony ericsson exchange mine for and unbranded one?
