ah well, Windows 95 has the best community support system of any operating system! if you ever need help, you just load Microsoft Comic Chat and attach to Dalnet, go into any chat room and ask how to get things done in Windows 95... and the people are so nice and helpful... it only took 5 seconds before someone told me how to fix Windows should anything go wrong, apparently Microsoft has this hidden support utility that you load by going to the MS-DOS Command Prompt and typing "Format C:/", i think I'll try that now!

gonna try windows 98, and then windows ME

Try "format c: /q" instead. You get help a lot quicker then

98 will work alright if you can find all the drivers...

1. Check if it's got Mcaffee, Norton Internet security or something similar running. If it has, uninstall them because they are shite and they always end up going wrong eventually. Put avast or AVG on instead.

2. Check Internet Explorer's options. It's unlikely to be the cause of this but check and reset them to default values anyway.

3. Stick Firefox on it and see what happens. If she already uses it, check the plugins.

4. Is she subscribed to some ISP's parental control service or similar? Try connecting through your ISP and see what happens. She might also have some program supplied by her ISP running which is blocking the sites.

5. If none of the above, back her stuff up and reinstall it. But I reckon it's going to be number 1 or 4 that's the problem
