Hi everyone
@Jojo if you want a good 3rd party app for Web browsing then i suggest UCWEB v5.01 if you want to save ram,its a great web browser, its what i use to come on here like right now lol. Otherwise the best 3rd party app web browser is Opera8.65 ,its fast and a lot better than Opera Mini.
@ everyone
i just realised that 90% of my appz on my N80 are cracked lol, including Core Player v1.2 , Opera8.65 ,LCG JukeBox v2.17 ,ooooh ive been a bad boy

lol Gucci, the App Cops are coming for you... and for most of us, myself included
Most of the locals are of the same opinion, Brix. Warm water currents, the distance the iceberg would've had to travel north, etc all make it highly unlikely, although there's been an unconfirmed radio report that the skipper managed to take some pix of the object in question. It would be interesting to hear what the experts make of the pix.

@kryptik: Yeah, when I saw the supposed location on a map I couldn't help but shake my head...basically geography informs me that such a sighting would be nigh impossible more likely a plot for an X-Files episode.
@GUCCI: No worries, all my games and apps are also cracked...Be careful though, store them on your phone memory as warez may corrupt your memory card...and that's never nice, just ask me.

At Kryptik. The way I see it is if an App cop had to pull another App cop who owned a smartphone to the side and 'skitted' the contents of his phone,it would sadly also be full of Humpty Dumpty cracked egg apps.19 dollars for an app or free.Hello.19 dollars in my money is R140.If I had to pay 19 dollars then I would fork out the dosh but been a citizen of a country with a kak exchange rate,I say have a CRACKING time everyone.

@ Jojo,
Yesterday was mad. First it was a mission just to get to work, due to a person losing their life after they were trapped and dragged under a bus for about a mile. As you can imagine, it wasn't very pretty...
The resulting traffic chaos, as police closed off the immediate area, was something to behold...6 members of staff arrived at school well after 10am...

I also had to prepare for certain items on the agenda for the school's Leadership Team meeting, which unsurprisingly went on longer than projected, then to rush home and entertain some extended family until late last night. Oh well, back to some form of 'normality' now.

@ Hobbs
I totaly agree lol! When i saw the price of Core Player i nearly fell off my chair after converting that price to Rands
@ Ama
Wow thats hectic, very sad when avoidable accidents like that happen.

Wanqa, that's terrible, not the most pleasant of ways to shrug off the mortal coil...
Hobbs, completely agreed mate. It's like the numpties over at mtnlive, exactmobile, etc. charging incredible prices for games, music etc. The truth is that there are probably enough folk buying those items to justify their continued marketing of the aforesaid. Maybe we ought to consider starting a paysite where we could market games and music, could end up making a few shekels. Eh Hobbs, you and i could earn some serious booze money for the Big Days Just think of all the Zamalek we could buy

Ya, it was very unpleasant.
On a brighter note, the Symbian Smartphone Show is just a week away now. Counting the sleeps LOL. Haven't received our show passes yet though... not helped by the current Royal Mail strike too. Not too bothered really, as they'll have additional passes for people at the show entrance, as long as one has pre-registered details to hand.
We've got this Friday off, as many of the kids at our particular school will be celebrating Eid-Ul-Fitr. Long weekend beckons...

Expansys have marginally dropped the price of the P1i again, now selling for 289.95 (approx R4060):

Just read on Gizmodo that Mozilla are planning a version of their Firefox browser for mobile phones. We're only likely to see this new browser after Firefox 3.0 for desktops has been launched- which should be sometime next year.
@da wanqsta: Is it really worth the wait for the price of the P1i to drop...its not likely, especially as we had downhill to the festive season.

I'd love to give that mobile Firefox browser a try. There are some fantastic mobile browsers available, yet each is also lacking in some regards. Opera and Netfront are byte-hungry, Mini swallows RAM and UCWeb won't open Gmail, which is a necessity for me.
