In addition to phones, I'm hoping we can see a new tablet from Sony at CES. I would actually love it if we could see a next gen smart watch from Sony too that REALLY improves upon the last one. What other sort of mobile stuff could we possibly see?
AFAIK no tablets due at CES.
Anyway what do you think of the 13 inch tablet Sony is making according to zomgbbqftw
@Xajel
As I mentioned, Feb is for Japan, UK, some parts of Europe, Hong Kong, etc. April timeframe ( Between Feb-Apr 13) is for other regions including MENA.

... I must have missed that one. Link?
I would have figured Sony would make a smaller tablet based off that super high res 7" display JDI announced not too long ago. A 13" would definately be interesting and I might consider replacing my Tablet S with it. I just hope it's a massive upgrade rather than the relatievly smaller upgrade the Xperis Tablet S was over the 1st gen one. |

"So I was thinking about a new naming system for Sony mobiles, I think they should base it off the new Nexus naming convention so we would get:
Xperia 3 - Low-range 3.5"
Xperia 4 - Mid-range 4"
Xperia 5 - Top-range 5" (Odin)
Xperia 5R - Top-range 5" with water resistence.
Xperia 6 - Phablet
Xperia 9 - Tablet
Xperia 13 - XL tablet
It is also similar to the NEX naming convention, and once that has settled in, they can just build the brand for each size, and give newer versions new letters after the number, similar to the NEX range." |

Oooooh, juicy. Well I'll definately keep my eye out for that. If it's a worthy upgrade from my Tablet S then I think it'd kick ass to own that and the 6" phablet. The phablet will take care of most of my needs and I don't always have to take my tablet around with me, but for those occasions when I do want a larger screen the tablet can be available.
W00T! I'm excited about this now too! Now Sony Mobile just needs a new, kickass smartwatch and we're set to go

I don't think he's saying that there'll be a 13 in tablet or even that they're working on one. His proposed Xperia 9 could be a 7-8" tablet and the XL could be a 10-10.5" tablet.

Just a few more posts about Vita OS and then I'll stop with it I think, unless someone makes a topic purely about it.
Someone said that without hardware buttons, it wouldn't be the same. I think that Sony can make the back of the phone touch sensitive and that could maybe work as an r1 and r2 button.
They could also place the camera in a similar position to the Vita so it could play those augmented reality games.
I seriously hope they are developing it throughout 2013. |

Yeah I would rather have a separate thread to talk about possibility of vita OS on phones/tablets. Maybe you could make a Vita OS thread and post the link on the this thread? |

Invite him AranhaHunter.
Esato is the biggest Sony mobile oriented forum, so I am sure he'd want to be here. |

Hmm, I wonder what the S4 would have then. Almost certainly OLED, but pentile or RGB stripe? It could possibly be 5" and 1080p, which rumours indicate, but unless they've improved upon the quality of the screens from current phones, I don't see it beating Yuga.
... of course other rumours indicate it'll have an unbreakable flexible screen so who knows, maybe that's what he's talking about?
Anyways, can't wait to see how Sonys first efforts on their own will compete! |

Oh please !!!
Hahahahaha according to Eldar any Sony/Sony Ericsson phone will be 10000000 times worse than Samsung phone
He is biggest Samsung fanboy who loves to make Sony phones look bad. We all remember his Arc/XperiaS/Xperia T "previews" and his comments on how GREAT Galaxy S2/S3 are
I can tell you what he's gonna say about Yuga screen -
Screen is washed out, colors not saturated. Viewing angles are poor compared to S4. Blacks look like grey. Overall screen pales in comparison with SG4
