If Honami specs are real, it means Sony goes all in on Xperia, and that their strategy is really to cram the best tech possible in a sleek devices.
I really hope this works for them, they have plenty of work to do to promote it as samsung apparently does really well, better then what we posted here before, with the S4.
It is interesting to see sony strategy against the competition:
- samsung: change nothing and target volume, even delay the tizen device. I do not think it is good on the long term as the semi unit is losing it's biggest client and does not make it in samsung own phones. I think they are not sure where to go from here, but they are in a good spot.
- apple: target high returns, they just hired the yves saint laurent CEO, i am sure they will position some product and make clients pay a premium because they have him onboard.
- moto: "buy american", it sounds like the last chance ride, not sure who this will appeal. I guess they do not have much ideas or cannot deliver on google ideas.
- nokia: if we cannot sell phones, let's get the money from microsoft. Not sure until when in particular if MS builds their own phones like the surface.
- panasonic: sounds like they will pull from phones, really the opposite of sony. They said they will not have phones for the winter collection of Docomo.

SAR hinted that Sony could be developing a new in sensor PDAF for their next year's flagship DSLR similar to the one that the recently announced canon 70D uses. I'm thinking that we can expect the new PDAF tech being integrated on Honami's successor next year

Sony is testing the MediaTek MT6592 2GHz, Cortex-A7 true octa-core processor. All eight core can run at the same time and it scores around 30K on AnTuTu. This could be used in a mid-range phone in 2014 to keep the cost down. |

haha.. about 14 hours to go right?
my guess is it will be Global Z-Ultra variant with a few changes and another device. Possibly Z-refresh or something mid-tier.
I don't think Honami will make an appearance til august like randomuser said. especially if they can't launch it for SALE until september. I think for the biggest impact, they should announce Honami the moment it's ready to launch for sale. Even if that only means taking pre-orders for the first lot of production and shipping within a week.
That way, you get the shock and awe and the hype doesn't die down as people are pre-ordering like mad.

That's why I'm not convinced about its authenticity, unless it uses an Intel Bay trail processor.

Looking at Samsung's success in the East and Southeast Asian countries, I think we need to see another J-pop culture boom to push Sony back to the mainstream.
In Samsung's case, they basically spam Samsung products in Korean dramas, reality shows, or music videos. K-wave is so powerful that it creates loyalty towards Korea and anything about it. Basically, they just need to employ one "handsome" Korean actor to endorse a product and all girls will go gaga over it (and it's true)
I seriously wish Maeda Atsuko or akb48 can be the brand ambassador for Sony
They can just bundle the phone with some collectibles for the fans (or at least use Sony phones in their MVs).
But again, akb's fanbase is not as strong if we compare it to k-pop groups.
Just my two cents |

Does Zomg know anything about tommorrow event? How about Unknown13X? Somthing is telling me that insiders know what's going on but they don't say it?
I don't think they announce something big tommrrow because everything will be eclipsed by Google's Moto X's hype.

the RAM thing is one of the major issue with android system.. being not able to achieve efficient user experience and keep increasing the minimum requirements is just making it looks worse and heavy. even with such heavy OS like Windows.. it really sucks, i mean i was using only 2GB of ram with i7 920 on my PC for two years.. heavy usage, plenty of designing works and of course gaming. works like a charm
asking for more ram will just make the developers more lazy, pushing the boundaries should be only for CPU, GPU and the OS that can squeeze every penny of it.. if one of them fail to achieve that efficient everything else will be just a waste and useless
