Well I hope they do implement lossless zoom in Honami in video recording, as far as post processing is concerned it is usually better to work on a larger image make all necessary adjustments whether it is noise reduction, sharpening etc, then downsize to a smaller picture to eliminate noise. That is with capturing it with 20mp then further editing it in another image editing program, but for in-camera processing someone here maybe razec could help explain its advantage as I don't know much about that, especially raw processing.

Thanks
I think that in the case of Nokia, we talk about pixel binning, so increase the amount of light relative to amount of noise, hence better low light performance. To me this is different from post processing, and is a feature not in Honami, which is probably fine because of the BSI tech coming on the top of Sony tech to increase pixel density without increasing noise.
I am interested in knowing what can be done with a 20mp output that could not be do e with a 13mp output. I am not quite sure what you actually mean by downsizing to eliminate noise and cannot find info on google but would surely look into any link you have

well here's a Link which seems to explain it in a simple way. BTW I do not exactly mean eliminate noise but rather make noise less apparent sorry for that. It's just like when we view a photo at 100% magnification we can easily see the noise present, but when viewed at less magnification the photos tend to look good. So if we take a 20mp photo to let's say 5mp it will tend to look better and we usually print photos just a little bit smaller than that, besides if we need to print very large pictures for posters we would be getting a dslr for that anyway. Still sensor size is very important since if there's too much noise in the photo in the first place it will still look noisy even if we downsize it.
As for advantage in 20mp output compared to 13mp just like I said previously, it is easier to fine tune filters like in photoshop if you have a larger image to work on, compared to a smaller picture, at least in my experience .

4k video bitrate
Hmm.. 48MB per minute isn't right. Looks like it's closer to 48MB per FRAME. Which is ludicrous.
3.6GB/s at 24 fps.
4K still sound reasonable?

yeap that makes more sense.
here's the info from a JVC 4K Camcorder:
so if honami is capable of h.264 encoding with HDMI output for direct to TV then awesome!
4K Recording: 3,840 x 2,160
MPEG-4 AVC/H.264(.MP4) 4 Stream Separate Recording 60fps/50fps/24fps Progressive at 144Mbps
4K recording for up to 2 hours (32GB SDHC, x4)
2 hour in four 32GB SDHC
2 hour 128GB
1 hour 64GB (max honami SD card support)
better than 20 minute but still not usable in real life

VERY curious how the camera on Honami will stack up against Sonys RX100 from last year. The RX100 has the larger sensor, but Honami has the more efficient BSI sensor and the new JPEG algorithm. If Honamis camera is even roughly on par with the RX100 I might have give consideration to selling mine off
Also just for the heck of it a camera sensor size comparison. The Fuji in this case has the same sensor size as Honami

Moogoo posted specs earlier on a JVC 4K camera that can record 2 hours of video on a 32 gig card, so I'd say that's probably the worst case scenario we can consider for Honami. |

I correct my post
48 MB for 1 second
reasonable or not reasonable
its an option
you can use it or not
still you can capture HD if you want

But that's for uncompressed, I remember when I edited a 5 minute 480p video using sony vegas and encoded it to uncompressed avi, the file size was also ludicrous it was at around 6gb, but after encoding it to h264 mp4 it became 75mb with no visible loss in quality.
Edit:
Don't get me wrong though, personally I don't see a need for 4k yet even if Honami does come with it. It will still take a lot of space for sure, but it'll be a bonus if Honami supports it without making Honami more expensive.

@vivftp
moogoo said in (32GB SDHC, x4)
I'm not sure but I think it's four 32GB = 128GB
it's the camera moogoo referred to it
http://www.jvc.com.au/profess[....]meras/pro-hd-cameras/gy-hmq10e
In the 4K mode, the GY-HMQ10E records progressive video at a variable bit rate up to 144 Mbps (36 Mbps X 4) using MPEG-4/H.264 encoding.

Oooh, lol. I dunno why I thought that part was referring to class 4 cards, heh. I was a bit puzzled by that, but didn't want to bother questioning.
Anyways, yeah it's going to be interesting to see what comes of this. I personally won't mind if Honami does not have 4K video recording, but I feel it would help boost this phones visibility to the public if it were to have such an outlandish feature for a phone. |

sorry. i somehow missed that it's FOUR 32GB SD cards, not ONE.
So with a 64GB card in Honami, using the same encryption, you'd get about 1 hour, which isn't terrible, but not great either.
