Seriously? A skimped Xperia Compact?
It's ok with just 3GB but hell no to Snapdragon 650.
That thing will hardly be faster than the Z5 Compact.

Its not gimped considering the regular Xperia X also uses the SD650.
The X compact will be a smaller version of the X, no downgrade at all.
On the other hand the Xperia X Compact Performance should have the 820 - but does that exist? |

^Hopefully next week we'll see some kind of teaser for whats to come at IFA and as always the closer the event comes the leaks will have more proof of spec and final design/colour range and so on.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

It wouldn't be a Compact with those specs, IFA will give us the year's flagship. A Compact may have less RAM and a lower res screen but that should be it. There will be a bump in specs and a new sensor. |

Of course it would be a compact, that is the definition of the word compact, same package but smaller, and like -XYZ pointed out, it would not be a downgrade from the Xperia X, therefore Xperia X Compact, not Xperia X Performance compact. |

But still it is not natural to walk backwards so I do not understand why Sony will think we want to ...
I am waiting for the new Compact but I want a top specs Compact and not a budget phone.

Little over 2 weeks to go till IFA2016 and Sony are keeping everything well wrapped up, I thought by now we'd of at least had some kind of teaser but nothing as of yet. This time last year for the Z5 range we knew pretty much everything about them weeks before their announcement so kudos to Sony for keeping us in suspense which by the way is killing me!!

did the invitations or whatever go out yet?
I'm excited. hopefully there isn't a full on leak between now and then that ruins the surprise. i might have to ban myself from rumor sites/blogs just to keep it a surprise for myself

I like leaks. The more the better. I'd love to see a new compact but I've a feeling that the Z series will always be more powerful than the X.

Anonymous tip just in:
"Sony plan on launching at least 2 devices, maybe a 3rd if its ready in time at IFA"
"one of these models will be available to buy the very next day which is thought to be the compact version to try and steal a march on the iphone 7"
"the new devices will have a USP that has never been seen in a mobile device"
Thank you anon

If that USP is like what we saw with the X series, then it should be UNSP !! wonder what they're planning on..
