I see many contradiction here...
Look at Smape's Prev Here.
Smape CLAIMS that they has latest C905 with final cam module from Sony, but they don't even mention Exmor.
Look at this C905 SAMPLES from Smape.
100% Crop of Smape's C905 (R1AA081):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then, visit mobil.idnes.cz
THIS site has a NEWER C905 proto than Smape (The EXIF told us), and this site CLAIMS that their protos using Sony CMOS Exmor Sensor.
Few highlights from mobil.idnes.cz:
"When compared to any dslr,like the a200, the C905 falls flat to the ground- afterall, the chip doesn't MAKE the pictures, the optics do"
"the results still haven't reached the quality we expected- the pictures are pale and a bit foggy. As of now the C905 also has troubles in bright light-the pic gets overburned-usually more towards it's center. And yes - purple fringing is here to stay."
"BUT take a look at the comparison pics taken by coleague c902- the c905 has a vast amount of more details- this must be caused by the chip, beecause the megapixel jump wasn't that prominent. Digital noise is still at large with the c905, but much less than with the c902, so the c905 keeps more details."
"SE has about 2 months to queak this model- fixing color reproduction and hopefully the fogginess aswell, but we can already state that the c905 has a great chance of becoming the best cameraphone to date."
Look at this C905 SAMPLES from mobil.idnes.cz.
100% Crop of newer C905 from mobil.idnes.cz (R1AA083):
Worse image in newer firmware? Purple fringing exists? Hmm... Smape's older proto is better...
All I can say, both of the sites still has OLD C905, but it's still newer than early proto.
Why? C905 newer protos has newer firmware revision (R1BA0xx), and also including geotagging in their EXIF... Both of the sites brought old EXIF.
This non-sense claim makes me confused...
And yeah, why SE doesn't learn from K850's mistake by adding two-layer lens? Although the 2nd layer is a mineral glass for protective purposes, it still would make Lens problem (if you has the protos, you know what I'm talking about.)
K800 has one-layer for focusing, that would give huge advantages. Just look at purple-fringing that C905 has.
And for comparison, see Innov8 samples HERE.
100% Crop:
Who is the winner? Too many rumours around. Please someone makes clear about the cam modules C905 used.

@Hiron
You're focusing a lot on this upcoming C905, aren't you?
Your next phone I believe.
I enjoy your 'scientific' analysis here. Really appreciate that. Cheers, mate! |

The pictures taken by the C905 at Smape's are in cloudy weather. In fact, to be precise, no one really knows what the camera version is really like. It is not Samsung, but Sony, thats for sure. The other site, mobilemania or whatever are probably using a pathetically old proto, like the one that surfaced a few months back, where the whole pic was purple. I have seen enough of the C905s to know that the pic quality is good. And btw, the sensors are not tagged with any brand names. So unless SE directly releases a press statement, no-one will know. |

@aremaboy, LOL, You're right!
That's because my K850i dissappointing me. BROD makes it stay in SE Service Centre since June 6th...
They said will swap it with the new ones, but still no positive news until now (It's almost 2 months, mate!)
I've appreciate my old K750 and K800, but not K850...
Hope C905 would not... Uhm... dissappoint me again...
Btw, gw juga dari negara yang sama dengan kk, (cuma beda pulau sih) wkwkwk...
Salam,
Hiron

Over here in Singapore, the K800i's really so common (I myself am using that now and waiting for the C905). In fact it's the most common SE phone around. Wonder whether that'll be the case for the C905 (in the future). |

Hey there ...
Mobilemania tested the silver version in which the cam and firmware are not complete since it would be releasing abit late.
The time frame for release is mentioned below:
The 1st Colour to be released is Night Black which is mid September.
The 2nd Colour to be released is Ice Silver 1st week of October.
The 3rd Colour to be released is Copper Gold End of October.
So testing the silver one is pointless right now, test the black version as it is going to into mass production by months end to be released mid of next month.
The other colours will follow then.

Smapes camera samples is the ACTUAL camera quality it will have when released. The other site was simply a prototype with different sensor/processing/algorithins or whatever its called. Eldar has done the exact same mistake and has updated his quick review saying that the C905 has undergone changes with its processing.
Can we almost have this camera business explained in the first post? It keeps getting circulated and posted over and over again! |

This is great idea as this would stop the same questions being answered over and over again.
@micks2005
Thanks for that info, I'd better get saving. Do you know if there is a chance even more colours will be announced?

GsmArena updated photo gallery from INNOV8. new photos are damn fine. I'm informing about this because C905 and INNOV8 are 8MP competitors
BTW here is something quite interesting...

Yesterday i've talked with one of the managers from the Nokias factory in Romania he says that nokia is having some problems in delivering a 8mpx device because they didn't expect this jump from SE and he said that sumsung didn't expect that either but they were lucky because they were already having a 8mpx camera chip in there possession.......They were expecting a 7 megapixel device from the competition,and they want to maintain as leaders in the camera department from the N82 success thi year....and he also said that at least one phone will be released with a bigger video recording resolution than vga
For those who believe no explanation is necessary, For those who don't none will suffice |
