I think that you should install MIDlet permissions changer mod by swmail, download here
http://www.agathosyne.de/files_ext/midlet_perms.zip

I have this mod on P1 and G900, and I can install and play java games with no problems. All (or at least most) java games for 240x320 screen resolution should work on the G900.

Btw, does somebody know how to enter the service menu on the G900? Is it possible since it doesn't have the jog dial?
I don't need to enter it right now, I just want to know.

>*<<*<*

(> is keypad or joystick right, < is left)

or else use gdesk to add a shortcut to it...

Is this not already on the G900?
Settings --> Security --> MIDlet accounts?

Thanks, ares.

cableguy, no, it's not the same. This is a mod created by sw mail:
"The program is intended to change the permissions of MIDlets (including not signed) on UIQ3 smartphones."

When you press the volume, all volumes should come up (SMS, Alarm, Media, ring). Try restarting the phone, if it doesn't work, change it. And reply with what did you do (working/got new one).

Ah, I'm so relieved! Went back to the shop I bought my G900 from today, and they replaced my defective unit with a brand new one. This one works perfectly (at least, as far as I can tell) Everything seems to be working, except for the wifi which I haven't really had the chance to test yet. Touch wood

Well i've tryed some video straming (imdb trailers), they start up, then lagg very badly, even if connection speed is good. There goes the "generation internet" phone... no youtube videos.. so sad. And the built in browser is crappy, to zoom you have to enter special menu, no shortcut for it. pity

Has anybody faced any problem with the PC Suite installation?

I have tried installing PC suite many times over on my laptop. But, when I connect the phone and select the "Phone mode", the phone is not recognized. When I first installed the suite and connected the phone, it said "A problem occurred during hardware installation, your device may not work properly". And thats it. Phone is not recognized by the suite.
However, it works fine in the "File Transfer" mode.
I tried to check the mRouter configuration, but could not make out much of it.
I use Windows XP Home SP2 (also tried on XP Home SP3).

I tried this on my brother's desktop which has Windows XP Professional and it worked well in both Phone and File transfer mode.

Can anybody please help?

I tried Aero Icons and G700 Icons (.sis icon packs by Gapata) and it seems that only Media and Camera icons couldn't be changed.

I found another problem, this time with the sms. in my sms inbox the opened messages and unopened messages are all shown with a closed envelope. any of my previous se phones show the envelope as open once a message is opened. only difference that i can see between opended and unopened messages is a slightly bolder font on messsages that havent been opened. Has anyone else experienced this?

yes, but i don't think this is a bug... i think it's from the phone. This is quite stupid.. you can see it way better with the opened envelope. Maybe next firmware

Glad it is not just mine.

I have just had somone from SE email about my complaint on the G900 alarms. I also pointed out this wasnt the only bug and the phone wasnt fit for purpose. So hopefully they will pull their finger out and release some new firmware to fix all these niggles.

I tried youtube(mobile version(3GP)) before the firmware update and it didn't work.

After the update i tried both mobile and desktop versions of youtube.. none works. After that I tried website with music/video streaming like imeem, myspace, etc nothing works!

Something is wrong with data streaming in this phone

Try changing the value in RTS threshold option (your internet wifi account-edit-more-advanced) mine worked with 256, I had problems with mobile youtube at the begining but after tweaking that value worked, and now with the firmware update run more flawless, even a little bug with the fullscreen was solved.

you can try this page http://zoovision.com/mobile.html it has streaming video for mobile phones, works too.
