I thought more than a year after launch date, XS just got its update recently.
Android 4.1 ( half an year after 4.2 is out )! Next time they should try harder.
But, ok, the Honami UI finally fits my likings, they get +1 from me. But there's a lot of place for improvements in terms of product support.

look at all of the smart phone manufactures. I think Sony is doing ok on its updates if you take into account that SE was being acquired and restructured into SMC. Windows 7/7.5 phones simply can't update because M$ declared no support for them. HTC and Samsung only update flagships, but their latest flagships are not so different from the older flagships (GS3/4, One/One+, BF/BF+). Apple forces update, but whether your older iPhone can run the update smoothly or not is a different story. Apple's forced update forces you to buy new phone. This indirectly says older iPhones are no longer supported. |

Unfortunately not the acquisition and restruction, but the internal fights in Sony are the main reasons for their inability to catch up with the competition. And, as some info came from XDA some time ago, these fight aren't going to stop anytime soon, which still stops me from putting any hope on them. Furthermore, when you pay so much money on their flagship, like I did in 2011, you expect to get product support on par with competitor's flagships, or at least better than the mid-range phones, which isn't the case with Sony... Getting close to no support and software updates for the flagship because of some internal fights or the mid-range phones is not an excuse, but a shame. I'll wait better times for Sony. Till then I'll go for Samsung because of the support their flagship gets.
Buy I just came to say that Sony finally managed to get the UI of its custom skin right and I appreciate that.

I don't get it, the Z has gotten 4-5 updates in 6 month, same with the ZL, THE XPERIA S has passed from 2.3 to ICS to 4.1.2, same as the ion xperia P xperia SL, XPERIA V XPERIA T ECC ECC....
i don't understand people who says sony wont update their phones!!
LOOK at samsung, the note 2 is still with 4.1.2 ! after one year!!
the galaxy s1 has never gotten ICS from samsung and yes it was a flagship
the only company that gives updates faster than sony to all it products is google, but sony has 30 phones to support while google has 5. |

I have been disappointed with Sony too in the past but I can see the silver lining of this very dark cloud and my hope is to return to Sony once Honami is released in the US.
If Honami even comes with half of what has been said in here, I'm definitely going to be one of the ex-Samsung owner to adopt Sony once again.

I know most of the people who post all the leaked info on here are pretty much spot most of the time but could there be something regarding the annoucment of the Honami in Paris this week.
1. The press invite as we know is in Paris
2. The leaked screen shots show the effiel Tower
3. The new Geo-tagging icon is the same
anyone agree
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head
