@JC08: Both the k550 and w610 are available at vodacom and cell c I think. I played with the dummy models and they're fantastic. Really slim and great looking. Gonna upgrade my mum to the 6234 (Free on Top Up which is a steal) and take her SE V600i. I'm dying without 3G here. |

Hey Brix, you dont seem excited about much these days dude.lol By the way I cant find anything about that R29/month 10 channels mobile tv thing you were talking about. The only thing I can find is DSTVSelect on the vodacom4me website which is a R139/month from Vodacom giving you 20 channels and 4 radio dmax stations ,but with that you need the decoder and a dish.Where did you see that R29/month deal.

@HOBBS: Its a mobile tv application. Its just over 1meg in size, downloaded it this morning, checked out the channels and TBH they're mostly crap.
Some people might disagree with me but we're all entitled to our opinions.
Check out www.vodacom.co.za or www.vodacom4me.co.za from ur phone's built-in browser.
Lots of things been happening this week, Telkom confirmed they're in talks with MTN to sell their fixed-line business. The monopoly also mooted the sale of its 50% stake in Vodacom with Vodafone first-in-line to buy the share. By the end of this year the Vodacom name might disappear to be replaced by Vodafone. Dunno how MTN will re-brand one of the most hated companies in South Africa should they successfuly acquire it.

@JK: Didn't see any signs of the Pro20 on any of those channels.
Yes, should the sale of Telkom's 50% stake go ahead, then Vodacom will change its name to Vodafone who will buy a majority stake offering some shares at a discount to management/staff and BEE partners along the way.

To an extent i agree with Brix. The only time that i really pay any interest to what's happening on the field of play is when it's a crucial game. I find more enjoyment in the lighter side of the game though
Jonah and his fabled 3 balls
Lio Falaniko at the RWC '99 Scotland-Samoa game...
Some of you may find as much enjoyment from reading this as i did
The Book of the Bokke, Chapter 10
Now there was a tumult in the land of the Bokke, for many are called, yet few are chosen. Yea though many warriors of the Bokke wanted to slay their enemies at the Cup of the World, firstly they must be chosen. And so mighty Nick the Mallet and wise Solomons did sit
and they did ponder long and hard. And wise Solomons did say unto Nick the Mallet, "Yea, we are sorely pressed by the Dallagites and the tribe of Kefu, and the men of Taine will grind us. But behold I have a vision! Let us travel to the land of Provincialis and there we will find a fighter called Anton the Obscure. And with the Skinsite and Ras of Erasmus who neither know what they do in battle at the place of the eight men, we shall confuse and trick our
opponents. And by this cunning they shall be amused and shall fall about laughing, and not be able to fight us from their mirth". And Nick the Mallet saith,
"As long as this Anton is from Provincialis, then I agree with you, oh wise one." And there was weeping and gnashing of teeth in the land of the Bokke, for the champion of the people was one Gary the Teichmanite. And he was bold and a man of dignity and honour. But Nick the Mallet did smite him with insults and call
unto Gary the Teichmanite, "Thou art clapped-out and not even counted among the men of eight in Bokkeland. Thou art finished and unwanted and a burden to me. Because of you I was smote by the Ozzies and the Zealanders. It be all your fault. I banish you to the land of the Welsh-ites." And wise Solomons did agree, for he loved Anton the Obscure as he was from Provincialis. And now wise Solomons turned to Nick the Mallet and said, "But for the centre of our army, we are sorely lacking. For Japie of Mulder is injured and slow, and Andre the Cutter is laid low, and as for Hennie the Red, I know you do not love him. And besides, the faction of the Ayencee-ites are sorely against
us. What shall we do?" And Nick the Mallet said unto Solomons, "Behold there is a man from Ethiopa and he is black and comely. And I shall choose him and place him among our army. And the faction of the Ayencee-ites will be pleased and happy, and shall bless us. And his name is Kaya the Motley-one. It be true he has never fought before any army of Ozzies or
Pommies or even Italities. But I
promise you this, he shall take a mighty load off my back." But the people of Bokkeland rose in a mighty shout and asketh of their generals, "Where are our mighty and wise warriors like Andre the Jubiliant, William of Chester and others who have fought against all our enemies and have slain them and are wise in the ways of the Cup of the World?" And the generals answered the people thus, "Oh ye foolish population! You may weep and gnash your teeth and even sprinkle upon yourselves the loose grass of the field of Newlands in mourning. But I say
unto you the Cup of the World giveth us a chance to experiment for the next Cup of the World that shall be held four years from now, against the same enemies. For this reason I have chosen Pieter the
Clumsy and Breyton the Small and Deon the Unsure. For my
contract runneth over until the year 2002."

@HOBBS: Was at Cavendish this evening, saw the N-series display...all dummy phones and TBH nothing earth-shattering.
Missed the game, I'm happy for the Pumas although I don't have any beef with the Frogs.
