Sony has always been about "World's firsts" At least the "classic" Sony until 2005 or so. From 2006-2012 there really weren't THAT many world's firsts. So probably 2013 is a good year for Sony to get back to their old ways as and launch as many world's firsts as possible. |

i just did a quick search to see how much storage is taken up for a 4K video. based on what i found real quick (maybe I read it wrong, if someone else wants to confirm then great) a 32gb sd card would be able to store about 2 hours of 4K video. I honestly thought it would take up a whole lot more space than that. Based on that, it seems more feasible as a feature. They would still need to have HDMI though for direct pushing to a TV, which would be the best way to do it, I think. It would also encourage people to be early adopters of 4K TVs if they could create and enjoy their own content.

@moogoo It highly depends on the encoding method being used. H265 has been developed to greatly reduce the size of 4k videos, or any other resolution, while retaining the same or better quality than H264. I wonder if Honami will use H265 btw. |

Yes.. I agree. What I found was from the first Sony and JVC 4K camcorders I found. So, whatever encoding they use. I would assume honami would be similar.

Honami also supports the feature to take a pic and share while on a call, just like Galaxy Zoom
Also High Speed Shutter and Backlight Correction HDR

cool. i've never tried, but can't you do that now? the active call should just go into the background and then you can use the camera and then share it. *shrug* i probably wouldn't use it but it's nice to have i guess

Hmm, I didn't even realize that was not a feature of modern smartphones.
Anyone want to guess at the shock resistance rating of Honami? IIRC Sonys rugged cameras usually have a shock rating of 5 feet. Is it likely Honami will have this too? |

Just a random guess, but since it's rumored that they're using a scaled down version of the sensor used on the new RX100 II, it was probably easier to go this route than to try and build a much larger stacked sensor in an Exmor RS.
Either way, if this camera can even come close to the original RX100 camera I'll be EXTREMELY excited. When you factor in the improved sensor and newer JPEG algorithm, it very well might be able to produce shots comparable to the original RX100. |

Well with this you don't need to exit, just take a pic and share
Also Honami has iSweepPanaroma feature for 220 degree panaroma shots

Hrmm, another question to ask is if the memory Sony normally uses internally in their phones fast enough to write 4K video recordings to? If not, I would hope they're using a faster solution.

I think that H265 was announced for S800 successor. Even if it comes on S800 it will come as a later update and as such wouldn't be a default codec on Honami. |
