so relax, please
i care and most of us care in here, because if c905's cam module will be as shitty as k850's no one will buy it..capiche??
THERE IS SEVERAL C905 PICTURES, (even in full size).. SO WHATS THE PROBLEM ??????? we have allready seen the quality (latest pictures), and they are good.
so who cares about the sensor, (as long the pictures looks good). its a freaking cell phone, not some high tech camera.

The pictures on both sites (smape and mobil.cz) look good in my opinion- looking much less like an "oil painting" compared to the k850. I was soo excited, but then I realized the video was STILL not VGA (while nokia prepares HD for next year) |

Are you looking for the term interpolation (like the k700 had with it's vga/1.3 megapixel camera)? |

Don't get me wrong- I'm not he kind of person to complain about everything. And my last post definitely wasn't meant that way- I was just asking to find out if that was how thay were going to get that resolution. If only you knew how many times I've fought for in discussions with people...
I've been praising the c905 everywhere I go- that's why I'm sad all the more that this one function is missing-I know everything isn't perfect-but if they CAN make it, why not?

Hey there,
The reason this fone doesn't rec. in VGA is because it doesn't need too. The C905 is designed to take your multimedia from your fone to the big screen, i.e. TV screen and not Cinema Screen ... hehe and not to your computer.
So when you watch videos on your TV rec. by C905 they will be displayed in VGA format @30 FPS. This is done by the TV mode in the media player which is designed to take all your stuff and put it on the TV screen.
If you put it on your comp, then all you have to do is to edit it and make it bigger to VGA size, the clarity will be the same.
So since it was going to end up as VGA res. SE just then removed the VGA rec. format and put in QVGA instead, hence it saves space on your phone or memory card and improves your battery life.
Got the picture Dude ...

Yeah, I know... The rumored Hicaru will have 8mpx cam with VGA rec & some of the c905 testphones had VGA rec... said that the c905 is a cameraphone, no need for VGA.... But, I don't see any handycam-phones in their portfolio... I think alot of people will not buy this phone just because of the qvga rec... |

That's just BS!!
BTW: most people has HDTV's at home, so interpolatating a 320x240 qvga video to match 1920x1080 is just wasted time... VGA is allmost normal PAL size (actually it's NTSC), so interpolating that will be much better (looking almost like a normal SD broadcasted TV channel)..
You said to save batterytime: what's up with interpolating to the TV then? If you allready have the VGA rec, you don't need to further convert the vid when viewing it on TV...
It's allmost like saying that they could also just changed the cam module to a 5mpx or lower (to save space, loadingtime and battery) and just edit it on your pc to get that 8 or even more mpix...

VGA is not such a 'divine' spec that SE is making it out to be. Probably they're not aware that the competitors are already 10 steps ahead and preparing for HD in the near future, so much so that the relatively puny VGA resolution is going to be the proud rabbit they're pulling out of the hat for their future phones. Why oh why?
@Micks2005
I'm not trying to be a prick or anything, but why can't SE give us what we want, we don't want to have to convert our videos for computer viewing, we don't want QVGA recording that can be viewed as VGA on TV. We just want plain hassle-free VGA which won't cost them anything since the onboard system is already geared for that. If battery life is the worry, then some here have already made it clear that they don't use video. And us video enthusiasts don't mind the extra battery drain. I just don't see the problem with implementing VGA resolution, just a failure on SE's behalf again to listen.

I'm willing to wait and see about the resolution. I take a moderate amount of video on my K850 but it hasn't TV out so they are mostly viewed on the phone so QVGA is good enough.
Mick is saying the TV Out feature will enable clear viewing of the C905 video on the full TV Screen - that sounds great but we'll have to wait and see how it performs in real life.
