Hey guys, I have a couple of questions

1. Can the music player be used when the keypad lock is enabled? Like hold down volume keys to switch tracks?
2. Is the WiFi stable now? My P1i has a habit of dropping connection even though it says it's connected.
3. Can the BST-33 battery be replaced with a higher capacity BST-40 like on the P1i?

Thanks.

hi xyrez,

the battery in P1i seems to be of bigger size, i am doubtful it will replace the bst-33 thoug i am hopeful new series with higher capacity coming up.

the battery seems to drain very fast on W960 compared to W950, or is it just me?

1. No, only if your headset as controls (like Ds970/980 HPM-82/90 etc.

2. Been good for me. Same as my P990i

3.Yes.

BST-33 is 4 x 50 x 40 mm
BST-40 is 5 x 48 x 40 mm

The BST-33 inside my W960i sits around 1mm below the plastic sides so 5mm thickness should fit. Only the P1i is shown as compatible at the moment though.

Your answer to 1. is incorrect. The volume keys can be used to change volume (short presses up or down) or skip tracks (press and hold up or down) even when the keypad is locked.
Try it yourself.

I just read someone scratched their screen quite easily. Given the price of the phone I'd certainly put one on.

I've tried scratching mine with a key - not a scratch! I'm very impressed by the plastic protection on this one!

guys , what are ur firmware version ( phone ; bluetooth, organizer and CDA? ) on ur w960 ? These are mine:

Phone R9J005 / Bluetooth R1D / Organizer R6F41 / CDA162034/54 3RA

I have also another question my CDA is : 162034/54 i check it and i knew that it is Netherlands - Generic Trade ... what does this mean? i ordered my phone from ebay and as they said its unlocked and unbranded ...but why it is /54 does this means that i wont be able to update my firmware or to get the latest firmware like world generic 1 or 2 users?

whats the difference between having a cda /54 and the world generic 1 or 2?

having cda 54 means that it will take longer for firm ware updates to trickle down to you. however i know that you can change the cda using xs++, so you may want to give it some thought , but thats only if you one of those people that have to have the latest fw when it available.

i did put a screen protector, but since there aint any for the W960 available, need to cut to fit it in, though it only protects most of the "touch" screen, it's more than enough for the time being. looking forward to the official size of the protector which covers the whole plastic screen
