Why Nokia 6630 internet performance is good? because of EDGE or 3G??? Please explain

Nokia 6630 is a fastest phone exists in Nokia s60 flatform. Its also has Class 10 GPRS with more slots. That makes huge difference. 3G & EDGE nothing to do with this.

But the interesting fact is I'm getting more speed in N70 than 6630. Anyways 6630 is a best & recommended phone for Airtel Free GPRS(Spartan's Hack)

Dude, you are going to expert level. Yes its possible but not applicable to our case. We need PPP Multilink which is not enabled in Airtel. I heard that there was a software called "Midpoint Teamer". But now it's production is stopped.

Yes. It can(I saw in its website but not tried it yet) but its for 2 network connections. The load balancing is also available in Windows Server 2003. But we need to combine 2 internet connections to double the speed. I have made lot of researches but no result. We need multilink PPP support on ISP.

@shivam
Have u tried by dialling 2 dialup connections at a time. They connect but u will get only speed of any one connection.

@alan wingate can combine 2 net connections as one, check out vinuthomas.com. there used to be a guide on a site on how to go about it, but that has been taken down . I took a mo connection to use in conjunction with my asianet unlimited connection, but the guide's no more .

@alan
To use 2 dial up connections with double speed, you need to create a network bridge. Goto control panel, network connections and right click on any dial up connection and click bridge connection.

So you mean its because of Nokia 6630 fast processor we are getting good speed, not because of EDGE. But others are saying they are getting good speed in EDGE phone???

That is why am asking you all members here to please check ur internet speed http://www.zdnetindia.com/reviews/isp/rateisp/popspeed.html and post the results so that those who are about to buy a new phone, will keep this points in mind, before making decision.

@stayback when using mobile office on my 6020 which is edge enabled i get speeds of 110 kbps, but on k700 and k750 the speeds average about 70-80 kbps.

@jing can u give me a step by step on how to bridge 2 connections? I tried it once, but I wasn't successful.

Why is it so that one get so variation in speeds.. For instance.. If someone connects wit the mms Apn to the proxy 100.1.200.99 and port 8080... And the other connects wit Airtelfun.com then the former gives speeds of 8kbps , and the latter gives 70 or more... Why is it So.? As the server is same in both the cases... Isn't it?

There is nothing to do with EDGE when the network is not EDGE enabled. As I said b4, phones like 6630,6680,NSeries are considered as high-end phones. Bcoz of that, they have good(high-quality) GPRS modems with more slots. That's why we are getting good speeds. There is no effect of 3G or EDGE over our normal GPRS speeds.
