SE them self claim the rumors are wrong, P990 will be released in Q2 (the article writer did not mention it was just a rumor until now, what a lousy way to write articles).

According to sources the P990 is delayed to after the summer, but Jacob Rıden from SE claims that it is going to be released in q2. im originally from norway so i can read swedish very well.
So everything in that article is based on rumours and SE is denying that its going to be delayed again.
Hope i could help you to understand a little more about this article

T-Mobile UK not due to release P990 until Q3, and it will more than likely me the back end of Q3 too. This is from the terminal management team! |

xtemujin, I never seen mobile manufactures make second press statement that just to confirm that they are still releasing the phone on time unless the phone is delayed but since SE said it will come out in 2Q why should they release another press statement, they will only if the phone is delayed. Since SE still havent made another press statement maybe because phone will be release in Q2, we are still in Q2, 2 months left.
dannyoneil, well target u already know, its 2Q so they dont need to repeat themself.
I think you guys should relax, believing anyone whatever they say, some people just make things up or not sure what they are on about. Whatever your hearing is all rumours because we havent heard this from SE. We all should wait, still 2 months left of 2Q. If its get delayed then you'll hear it from SE. |

Sorry SE you've just lost a P9XX customer - loved my P900, waited and waited for wireless but fed up so got a P7120
- just looking for a new/slim SE device to...... make / receive phone calls

Thats almost the price of three P990s (based on Play.com's price and the price the P910i was at launch), and a different class of device too, although its spec does look quite nice for a sub notebook. |

Interesting. Not disputing your info or anything, but there certainly seems to be an awful lot of "reliable" info of a T-Mob release ranging from June to August/September (Q3).
To be honest though I would have though with T-Mob's range of MDA devices and the upcoming Hermes/MDA Vario II that the P990 would not be a priority for them anyway - afterall far more margin in pushing their own branded devices for them. |

this is a real issue. Orange have always push M$ devices, O2 have invested heavily in XDA and T-mobile in MDA. I think Nokia and SE smartphones may not get the support they should get from the networks given the sales volumes compared to their own smartphones. Looks like the networks are ignoring their customers' preferences!

Is Expansys the only place so far that has unlocked P990s for pre-purchasing? Just wondering because the price seems a little steep. I bought my P910 from them right when it came out for only about $750. And I thought I remembered SE saying that the P990 would be the same or cheaper in price. Do you think Expansys just made up that price and plan to lower it when the phone is actually released? |
