It's me again, I posted before about a problem with low standby time on a T68i.
I've been asking around a bit and came to the conclusion that the cause could be the simcard. Apparently my Pay&Go simcard could be too old, it dates from january 1999.
I'm not well know with this technology, so after looking around on the internet i found there are two types, phase 1 and phase 2, and 2 voltages, 3 and 5 volt. I dont know what phase uses what voltage, but apparently phase 2 has a larger memory capacity and extended funtions (call costs, etc...)
I don't know what phase my card is, but has "3 volt" on it and it has memory for 100 phone numbers.
Anybody could give me a bit more information, and confirm that this could be the cause. If yes, i'll go to a proximus shop a ask them to copy my sim to a new sim. |

Ive heard a story of a guy who had bad reception all the time, the operator gave him a 'stronger' SIM card, and his reception is good now. Because searching network is taken a lot of your battery-power. I used to have an old (1999) mobistar-card. I let it replace with a new one because with the old one the display-name on my T68m in standby-mode was B-mobi mobi* (2-lined) my new sim card says just mobi* one line, so i see my background img better. I also have a proximus card with 200 contact-places.

I've got an old Pay&Go card and don't have any porblems with it ... But your 55 hours I think I know what it is, sometimes when I check the status whit the screenlight got something like 50 hours but when the keylock is on and you chech the status than I have more than 200 hours
P.S: this whas when I got the T68i James Bond Edition with an old software now with the R7A I don't have this anymore .... |

No in fact there are some differences ... my mom had one of the very first sim card of proximus and she had to change it cause the new phones accept only a 3V simcard, my dad had the same with the T39 and then the P800 ... This is complicated but it's free so... who cares |

Yesterday I've bought a Mobistar Packet with a T610 in it.Great Phone but in the menu i find a Mobistar icon and some ugly Mobistar pictures.Since I am a Proximus user I want to remove those things.
Is this possible with the 13 sec trick?

Ok I have 2 questions:
1. Where did you get it, the release date is 01/07/03 ( MobistarPacket )
2. Did you have to take any subscription to Mobistar
And now about the 13s trick if you don't wanna get rid of all the content, you do a master reset then quickly deletes evrything you want ( and keep the others things you want ) and so you can free up the memory without loosing some images/screensaver/ringtones/... that you wanna keep. Besides you don't have to take the battery out or wait 13s and it works like a charm on the T68i so maybe for the T610 also ... |

Just got mine at BelCompany, price is 349 as stated before and no subscription had to be taken.
Just charged it, but will only use it from tonight on.
Inserted my Proxi SIM to see what it looks like, and had that annoying Mobi* icon too.
So I did a reset (the one that doesn't delete anything) and afterwards the icon was still there. Will try a real master reset later today, but does anyone know what else it will delete? Will it erase the standard pictures and themes too?
Calm down - it's only ones and zeroes. |

Yes the 13s trick erase everything thats why I just hate this trick
This thing just got in mind now: take your T610 to a SE center and let they flash it, just say that you have a software problem if they say "it's a mobistar one so we can not flash it"................ I really don't know if it will works but it's worth the try.
Edit: my fault, you mean the master reset of the phone in this case no it won't delete images/themes/ringtones but if there are some MMS presentation like on the T68i James Bond edtion you will lost them oh and yes it will deletes contacts and SMS but I bet that you knew this one

But it doesn't touch the contacts and SMS's on the SIM, right?
