I use my Samsung D500 the most.
My P900 when I'm at work
My S700 when I go out partying
And my Moto V3 RAZR is back in its box and up for sale on Ebay
Cons on the S700. Hmm.
Sometimes restarts when the phone rings (not happens often),
The 1 second pause after answering a call (happens on all new phones),
External speaker distorts when playing any sound through it (my K700 was exactly the same and so is my P900 )
No option to format the MS Duo like in the P900
Can only use the camera in closed mode
Paint has started to flake off (a few other members have reported this happening to theirs) dispite the phone being in a case when not in use.

@Rookwise
Thanks for the feedback.
The S710a will most likely be my next phone. Most of the fedback relates the same from other owners of the K700 and S700.
Thanks again !

@Whizzkid. Not too sure what you mean by that.
From what I know, Edge can only be used in certain countries which have that feature on their network (its not available in the UK at the moment)
The S710 will only be available in countries where the edge service is used by the networks.
I hope the housings will be available soon as I'd really like a black one for my S700

Ok... Just a quick one.
Now that the S700 is £349 in the carphonewarehoue is it still considered a good buy? Or do i wait for the next gen of SE phones or the next price drop??
Cheers

I would say that £350 is about the right price for the S700i. £500 was way overpriced. I bought the phone for £170 on a £30 a month tariff the week that it was released and have never regretted it. It is the best phone that i have used. I sold my P800 because the I never used it after getting the S700.

Another Q for any S700 owners:
Will all the videos i've downloaded in the last year from the P900 videos thread work on the S700? And does it have the full screen option yet??

The videos for P900 might work. It depends on the size and resolution. Full screen video isnt on there yet either.

Do you mean the red led that comes on at the side of the phone when the battery is low or when its charging ?

I have been using the S700i for the last 4 weeks. The camera, screen, and quality of construction of the phone are excellent but it has a number of major shortcomings. Till some of these are fixed I would not recommend buying the phone. The first 3 items I think are critical.
(1) The phone just turns OFF on its own. Does not restart till I remove the battery and replace it. ( a number of other people have this problem). This happens every couple days and sometimes I realize after a few hours that the phone has been off all this time...
(2) Sometimes if I turn off the phone I have to remove and replace the battery before it turns back on
(3) Atleast once or twice a day the phone reboots itself... normally during a phone call or using the camera. (common problem with other 700i users)
(4) sometimes when the phone has been used a lot and I try to take a picture it clicks and comes back to the Main Screen of the phone.. does not give the Save or view all or any other option. If I turn the phone OFF/ON then it works fine.
(5) If u have 500 contacts there is no way to search for their phone number (same when sendin SMS). All we can do is search by the 1st letter and then Scroll thru the rest.
(6) The vibration id very weak
(7) No simple BEEP as a ring tone |
