No RDS?!
Do you get any RDS info in the built-in FM player? I don't see any...

Just been reading some of the Vodafone eforums. They are all spitting fire cos Vodafone have ruined the Satio with branding Vodafone responded saying their phones wont work with Vodafone live! without branding. They said they did release one non branded phone in response to moans about branding but then other customers complained that Live! never worked. Cant win. Ruining the Satio with branding thats just so wrong

When do you think the Satio will have its price lowered? The prices online are pretty ridic*lous, from 800USD to some seriously crack-headed prices like 1800USD, like seriously wtf. This phone seems alright, but other than taking bigger pictures, what makes this better than the OmniaHD? Doesn't seem to have much advantages over the OmniaHD. Can any Satio users rate on the battery life? It seems pretty stupid of SE to implement a 1000 mAh battery on a multimedia phone.

That seems a bit of a weak excuse. Surely compatibility with Live! only comes down to a few settings on the phone, rather than a complete overhaul of the software. All they need to do is make Live! compatible with unbranded handsets, then quit the software branding game.
I'm sure that way they'll see more income too, because no matter where people get their phones from, they could use the Live! service, drawing in more traffic and therefore more $$$ for Vodafone. Is that not common sense?

where do you read that satio uses this IMX060PQ exmor sensor?
Will it be hard for you to believe that this one and only Sony exmor for mobile phone was the sensor used in satio? if so can you name other possible 12mp modules?

To any Satio user
Does the phone have separate volume and vibrate alert for the ringtones, messages, email, alarm and caledar?
For instance, one can turn off the vibrate alert for messages but have it on for calls or turning off the ring tone on calls but have it on on messages or any of the aforementioned functions.
Thanks.

Is there no one willing to post pics ??
Am keen to see how the 12mp compares or if its true that more mps doesnt make any difference .
Someone please post some photo's, most ive seen so far are from non retail units.
Magapixels are the latest buzz word being used in the phone sales war, very much like RAM was being touted as the be all and end all of PC performance by computer resellers a while back.
I take my photography fairly seriously and can produce far better quality images with a low priced 3megapixel camera compact camera than the satio with 12 will EVER do!
It is not that the Satio camera is rubbish but its not its primary job, forget the number of megapixels the phones have its merely sales froth, forget the nonsense spoken by people here about the HW behind the cameras in phones mostly yet more ill informed nonsense, there is only one component of note the LENS. The lens on 90% of camera phones is of inadequate size and quality to ever produce a rally decent image.
All the increased megapixels on camera phones do is decrease the amount of space you have to store them!

I take my photography pretty seriously too and I beg to differ.
The Satio's camera is very good and it just happened to beat a 10MP p&S for per-pixel detail level.Look back a few pages and see how that went down.
I love how people like to repeat oft-used cliches without actually trying things out by themselves. |

Yes the only phone Vodafone decided to release without branding because of branding complaints was the HTC Magic. They then had complaints that Vodafone live! never worked. I have had that problem on Vodafone when i had a sim free c510 Vodafone live just did not load the pages as it should look. You just get a couple lines of text on screen. Why cant Vodafone sort that out as every other networks portal loads properly with a sim free phone with no branding. I dont know how much branding is on the Vodafone version weather they have ruined the icons in the menu. Does anyone have the Vodafone version?

is there someone who tryed if animated wallpaper works ok on Satio?
As far as I know S60 5th doesn't support animated wallpaper and I don't think that SE added this features to satio...

It fails to respond at times, which doesn't appear to be a fault with the screen but the software being sluggish (remember the K850?). Even without anything obvious running in the background (i.e. excluding background tasks, like the SE front-end), opening some windows and menu dialogues can cause the screen to stop responding - for a second or two.
If you go into system preferences, and theme, you'll see that you can't press anything straight away. Wait a bit and it works fine. The same happens on occasions where you need to enter text, and at others when the softkeys won't respond. All very frustrating, but I am sure all fixable with a firmware update.
To be honest, with such a fast processor, I am of the opinion that it's the SE interface that is always running (unless you turn it off) that is causing all of these delays. Turning off auto-screen rotation also helps, as the phone is FAR too sensitive and will try and rotate after turning just a few degrees - and back - causing all sorts of problems and delays.
As is typical with SE (although Samsung was just as bad with the I8910 and I guess so was Nokia with every S60 phone), early adopters pay the price for getting early software.

Gravity was the first app I installed - it's one of those must-haves. If you get the latest alpha release, it also has Facebook and Google Reader support (but only very basic).
Which version of Gravity works for you on Satio? I tried 1.24 and it doesn't react on touch screen at all. I can't add an account.
Edit: It's ok, it works with v1.21.
