Eldar said that in a podcast in the Russian M-R. He said that there are two smartphones with touchscreen in the works with the new interface, the first will be the iPhone competitor which will be announced this year and out in late Q1 - early Q2 2008, and the second one won't be ready soon and it will be released in the end of 2008 or beginning of 2009. So you say the second won't be the P990i's successor?

Once he said that the real p990 succefor will bi announced at the end of 2007 and released in Q1 or Q2 2008, and it will has evolutions of classik p-series desighn with gps in small body. Well I'm hoping he misunderstood. Still, if it is late Q1-early Q2 2008 it is earlier than expected. Whats the date of this podcast anyway? |

@chuksy, the p1 does not have many problems, it surely is not worse than any competitor in that respect. I will be very happy if the P5 is at least like the p1 in that respect |

Besides the FACT that next Pseries exists in prototypes and they're exstensively tested, we know nothing else.

Its mind boggling to think about the future of phones....
Its like a mad race now with so many features and addons....
I wish the whole of symbian to be common platform so that developers can make plenty of application...
THe best Eg is that of windows.. that has always been so same ( can be boring as well) .. and see the no. of applications that are coming out...
So if symbian releases different OS so frequently we will have numbers but not quality..
P5i ( or any new model) that is release will be packed with features but higher end users also need good quality 3rd party applications to meet all their needs...

I am sure it will work . But dont u think it would have been much much better had SE allowed porting of UIQ2 application to UIQ3 and if possible s60 to uiq
If you follow the WM , third party applications can run palm and blackberry applications in it and microsoft provides plenty of support to that
Every one knows that mac is better than windows.. but then why is it every not buying a mac ????
All said, if possible i will be one of the first persons to buy p5i |
