*EDIT*: There's actually no need...I connected to wotan and it told me straight away I needed to update  I updated, removed battery, inserted again, and everything seems fine.

So with Wotan you won't lose all installed games/messages/contacts/etc? If that is the case then I am dumping Davinci!!! |

newbie here. i want to get most from my new fone which i got today from THREE Australia. i got the first release (SW:R1CB001 EROM:R3A011)and im wanting to upgrade both the firmware and erom.
before i do this, i just want to know if i'll be debranding the fone? and if so, would THREE and all its features still work?
also without going back through all the previous pages, can someone point me to where i can get the upgrade for free?

You can get the free upgrade from SEUS by downloading and installing the update service software but only when SE release a 3 version. If you dont mind losing the 3 branding and paying a small fee then use the Wotan software.
Now for my question, how do you get Wotan to update the EROM? It just keeps saying invalid account for me after is press 2 and 5 as instructed?

I'm having the same problem, post here if you manage to resolve it please! And also if you can confirm whether the EROM upgrade can be done without doing a firmware flash afterwards.

If you're upgrading the firmware you'll lose everything if you don't make a backup. When you upgrade the EROM all your data is still present

ghostfreak, can you confirm how you got wotan to upgrade erom for free? i keep getting a 'no credit' message when i follow all the instructions? i've used an old login and blanked both boxes with the same result? |

I just did an EROM upgrade as mentioned by other users here free from Wotan.
I downloaded their new client, 0.93 I believe and left the server settings the way they are in the box. I followed the instructions (press 2+5, connect phone) and then the program proceeded to upgrade the EROM. It was a very fast process, around 5 seconds. I have just powered on my phone with no problems, and the service info reads the EROM as R3A016.
I did not upgrade the firmware following this procedure, so updating the EROM standalone will not hurt your phone. Hope this helps. |

This wasn't the case for me. I didn't have to buy a credit.
But for the heck of it, I just bought one right now and upgraded to R1ED001. Couldn't stand my alarms not going off, I'm late for school almost every other day.
Hope this bug is fixed in this FW. I'll report some fixes as I see them. |

One thing that I've noticed since updating is that I no longer need a finger nail to turn the phone on. A light touch of the on button now works. Definitely an improvement. |

Improvement note - R1ED001 - camera pictures save a LOT FASTER now when taken. (ie. snap sound, and then write to memory) Almost instant, no lag at all. |

I have an unbranded k800i and i've made it work on the 3 network australia by simply entering the correct settings into it.
You'll find the required settings here, i know it says w900 but those are k800i settings that i posted:
