2008 promises to be an interesting year for all the top guns in the mobile industry.I cant wait to see what they have to offer...the competetion for the best and most innovative smartphone is heating up and nobody wants to be left behind. |

yes, i did assume that they were working on ONE platform, is that so far fetched given what they have supplied us with for the past 2 years, in MANY of their phones SHARING the same platform.
for that assumption, im sorry.
i wasnt assuming that this is the ONLY platform they are working on, but i did assume that there was ONLY ONE that was to be a "P5i"
its amusing to me to see, the gullibility of the board everytime someone "trusted" divulges information, at this point i dont care until SE tells me, thats how bad it is. every month theres an announcement date. if that in and of itself wasnt funny enough. we now have a product that is so outlandishly out of character with SE that its hard to NOT want a device as integrated and connected as the one speculated here.
but until we get some pictures with legit specs (sorry sealover, although your renders are magnificent) without specs, its just that.
i hope that icaka is right, but in the end im bound to be disappointed, only because with all of those features SE would never release it, every phone that SE releases has SOMETHING missing that is glaring and obvious, that it would be hard for an engineer to miss.

was this at somepoint declared fake, sorry if i missed that. looks like the 3x optical is PS'd on.
regardless, lets hope for now, that the SnapDragon P5i can be made stable and into the hands of PeterKay in short order, else chalk this one up to vaporware with the "gPhone" and duke nukem forever |

SE actually has more to it. They have other companies offering them some features added to the phone. I remember Taito sent a green flip phone(same color as K660i) a few years back to put in gaming interfaces. The phone won't surface anymore, but it had A/B button, and it was a flip phone. That's all I know, and that's all I saw.
I don't think everyone is expecting pictures of P5i. People who are familiar with this industry would know when the picture would most likely come(That's why they don't ask). Having leaks or announcements late in the year would always affect their end of year sales so SE have their reasons to keep it shut. They have the time and the portfolio to to support them for the rest of the year, so no need to rush things up.
About the missing specs here and there well take a look at Nokia who decided to integrate all the functions into a phone. Look at their line ups, they only have 1 or 2 series that's lasting them. SE separated the specs to missing a few just to be able to distinguish their portfolio(It's just so obvious). They could continue to expand their portfolio into different branches. I think it's a long term success.
The picture you showed us, it's still controversial whether it's fake or not. I personally think it is not, but the problem is when it would come, or whether it would come at all or not. The picture does show it's still in its early stage, and there's just so much time to consider it to be announced or not. |

Just hope all of these phones are going to have GSM 850 and US 3G bands if not  then atleast EDGE.Or else ill have to stick to shitty nokia. |

Maria should be announced by the end of the year and released in the end of Q1/early Q2.
P990i's successor to be released late 2008 or even in the beginning of 2009 because "it won't be ready till then". Thats a very controversial information compared to what we knew and I won't update the first post until I find some stronger evidence.( mweb, please say something  )
