UIQ3 is still very young imo. The m600i is a fantastic device as I'm able to multitask quite effectively at times. Able to keep messaging, contacts, opera mini, mxit and web open. Of course once opera mini starts using images thats a different story. I believe the next release of uiq3 with better hardware will be much better. A faster processor, and more RAM is definitely the order of the say. I believe it is actually Symbian OS 9.1 that actually limits this device, Just check out the videos of the iphone to check out how a touch screen device should work. Now that I'm hooked on mac osx, I;m definitely getting the iphone when it hits our shores. Apple just have a way of doing things that are so intuitive. I used windows vista on my friends laptop and it was absolutely disappointing. OSX is lightyears ahead imo.

@jits: iPhone without 3G/HSDPA, I can only see Apple fanboys jumping at that one. Even if it did come with these features the iPhone is still not open for java or 3rd party apps(afaik). And it will probably cost a pretty penny. Don't think any of the big phone makers are having sleepless nights.

@ Jojo,
Sorry I forgot to reply earlier. Yeah, you're right, they were known as 'cat's eye' lights, or 'fox-eye' lights, due to their shape.
They're not really referred to as such any more with the later/newer bikes though, maybe because they're pretty much the norm nowadays.

I'm still on holiday for another 3 weeks, so no students for a while still...

Hope you're having a good start to your Tuesday, matey.

@ Jojo,
This has been such a busy holiday so far (with all the visitors from SA that we've had) that I actually haven't thought about school that much. It'll all change in the last week of the holidays, when I start preparing all the paperwork...

I took some really interesting N73 pics of the WW2 cruiser warship, HMS Belfast today. I posted a night shot of it a while back. Will be uploading some of the pics later today.

Thanx to Brix and Kriptyk im using UCWEB.sis v5.01 which only takes away like 2.5mb ram at most,i can nw run 4-5appz happily so ram aint an issue so ye S60 takes my vote FOR NOW

Have you guys ever wondered why there are so many Java games but comparatively few apps?

Hobbs, that'll be no problem at all boet. Wrt inter-provincial exchanging/selling, the most reliable way for me has always been via SpeedServices. I've done quite a few deals on Bidorbuy and usually opt to send/receive via SpeedServices. 2-3 day service is about R45, overnight door-to-door about R90 but well worth the cost. I'm not sure how things work on Vottle... On BOB one acquires a rating after every completed deal, hence dealing with a highly rated buyer/seller is considered a safe bet, i.e. you could safely pay/trade with them, knowing you'd get your money's worth. They're also covered in terms of insurance, so if a deal goes sour you don't end up losing out. Therefore, if the dude has a reliable rep on Vottle, exchanging phones via SpeedServices would probably be the best option; however, i'd be happy to act as "escrow" if you and he prefer, i.e. send yours to me, i'll do the exchange if everything checks out then send back to you, the two of you splitting the cost of shipping. (assuming that neither of you is travelling to CT/PE in the near future)

Hmmm, well still on the topic of s60 vs uiq3, the only real reason i prefer uiq3 is the touch screens, i mean like none of the nokia s60 s got a good touch screen (does any of them have a touch screen?) I am not that much into getting all the extra software, as i dont use it. I have almost always got my laptop handy, so i use the software on there.

@ Rhino,
Ya, I think the only European/Western market Nokia touchscreen to date, (excluding the Asian market Nokias like the 3108) was the Nokia 7710, and even that wasn't S60, but the more limited S90.

@ JKBR,
Yup, it looks cool, but has a little less to offer specs-wise than the K800i. They did state on the announcement on GSMarena that it is meant to be a mid-range type handset.
Yes it's a thinner handset, but at the price that K800i's and K810i's go for nowadays, I don't know if they're shooting themselves in the foot again, a la when the W700i flopped after the W800i had already dropped so much in price that it still made more sense (specs-wise to go for the older W800i than the dumberd-down newer offering).
The W700i kinda flopped in a big way here, sales-wise.

@ Kryptik,
LMAO! .
