LOL Jojo, soon matey. I've been entertaining in-laws over the past few weeks and now friends from SA, so hopefully soon.
Oh, it has stopped raining over this time period too, so no immediate concern of 40 days and 40 nights of rain to match any Biblical proportions.
I did however manage to replace the original air filter with one of those fantastic K&N filters the other night though. Sorry for the grainy night-pics, they were taken with a friend's Nokia 6230i. You can see the massive opened airbox and racing-spec throttle bodies:
Taken before sunset, again with the Nokia 6230i. Came out surprisingly well:
And in the interim, here's an ACTION PICTURE of my friend Dale with his Kawasaki ZX7R leaning....
OK mate, gotta go. It's around 1:20am and I'm pretty tired to say the least. Hope you have a great Monday.
G'night.

Good morning, another crappy day to look forward to in Cape Town...60% chance of heavy showers, 16 degree max and an N70 that just won't stay on for longer than 30 minutes. True as God, this phone re-boots every 30-odd minutes. Crazy!

@HOBBS: Nah mate, after my bad experience with this phone of late I'd rather settle for a "dumb phone", most probably an
If Vodacare can't fix this I'll probably flog it for a bit and a bob, cancel my data subscription and settle for an el cheapo phone in the interim.
@da wanqsta: I might have to send you the T39m. The last repair shop I tried told me they couldn't fix it because they had no spares in this country.

So the topic seems to be going alot towards the s60 vs uiq3 battle, i do love my uiq3 and my large touch screen, BUT nokia, even tho i do hate them, seem to be the only ones pushing really high end phones at the moment

I do find it fun to look at the 'lighter' side of the UIQ v/s S60 rivalry (not the staunch defensive n' dogmatic flame wars which unfortunately manifest in certain threads on this site, and others for that matter), but as I've mentioned before, and as Jits referred to as well, we all know that both platforms offer pros and cons.
I've kept the N73 for its S60 abilities, which I do enjoy a lot (not to mention the games... ), but UIQ's interface/platform is my favoured platform on a day-to-day basis. Horses for courses.
Me likes both for what they are. Like anyone, I have my preferences which obviously stem from what suits me, but if I ever become dogmatic, tjoon me straight hey.
@ The Hobbster,
Good to see you've been added to thread front page's 'Rogues' Gallery', boet.
@ da brixsta,
I'll keep my ears open to hear if anyone's coming up this way in the near future.
Right, The Wanqing One is now signing off and taking people around sight-seeing again. Hope ya'll having a good day. Will check in later tonight again when we get back.

Lemme tell you brix, this baby is performing like i always wanted my phone to perform. It must have the newest software installed, as i never had any problems with it. No reboots, no freezez nothing. (Except for once that the vibrator stuck and wouldnt go off untill i rebooted).
I love the keypad, BUT its hard getting used to since i do use alot of "NORMAL" phones all the time.
I have 3 phones i use on a daily base, m600 v600 and blokia N90, so the typing gets to me.
One of my mates also got an M600 2 weeks after i did, and he also never had any bugs.

@da wanqsta: I was thinking of posting it over to you, paying you via bank transfer for the repairs and then getting it back. Right now the T39m is of little use as a phone even though its in perfect nick.
I'm not going to argue about the merits of both UIQ and S60...It's like someone arguing about Linux and Mac OS X. I don't have personal preference but for ease of use, I'd go for UIQ but S60 wins out with the sheer amount of available software.
I won't blame my recent misfortune with the N70 on S60, it might just be a problem with the phone itself- especially since the most recent firmware update.
@ALL: I'm watching the latest test between India and England. For the first time in my life I'm actually hoping that those over-paid primadonnas from the subcontinent can pull off a win against the whingeing Poms. I'm still hurt by the pain inflicted when England pulled one over Biff's men a couple of seasons ago.

Why oh why did i have to go put a fake cover on my v3x!put it on three weeks back and apart from the slightly not tight closed position it was fine and looked really good in black and silver.but now it's literally falling apart!firstly the battery cover slides out every now and then.secondly the camera and voice commands button fell out, luckily i found it under my desk, then the cover cracked where the gap was towards the keypad now the...camera seems to have stopped working and then today it fell and the bottom piece fell of lol and the keypad clips that hold it in place are sitting out of the casing!so you gotta press really hard and hope it'll actually make contact somewhere below the keypad....ok enough of this shite i think i'm putting my original faithfull cover back on lets hope i can make the phone whole again because right now it cant even be called a phone.

Hobbs, if the deal looks good i'll be happy to do the 3rd party/intermediary thing if you like, i.e. pop around and have a looksee at the phone, check if the dude is reliable etc.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious. |
