No honami on July 4th, only togari.
Like unknown13 said, honami in august (planned date) I doubt it would be earlier than that.
I dont quite agree with unknown13's opinion on Z 2 ( or Z refreshment). Sony was quite late in offering the Z in the beginning of the year. S4 was soon announced and launched and so did HTC ONE went off. Yes the Z did a great job in the H1, but the sales is ending, or "ended." No more room for Z, at least anywhere but USA. If Sony doesnt launch another flagship device other than Togari (since alot of consumers think its too big), Sony wont gain/maintain much recognition around the globe.
Manufacturers always need to meet the market's demand, keep up to date with what those demands are, otherwise you wont stay long in the market. Im sure Sony's marketer knows about this. Launching Z2 at the same price as Z wouldnt be much of a difference in. Well, price doesnt matter atm, tech prices always drop over the days. So its too hard to make any assumptions now about prices.
Honami's spec sheet is nice, but I expected more from Sony, and i know this isnt what they are capable of.
I guess i have to wait till 2014 for the real deal from Sony.

It will be if you're expecting flawless DSLR-level shots at extreme ISOs |

^ I guess Z Ultra uses S800 prime but S4 LTE A uses S800 pro. It's just my guess. |

Well this is interesting. What precisely were you expecting Honami to have? The only things I can think of that haven't been confirmed for it yet are xenon flash, flexible display and stylus support like the Z Ultra.
So to summarize what the insiders have stated so far for Honami:
S800 processor at 2.2 - 2.3 GHz
Adreno 330 graphics
2GB RAM
16/32 GB internal memory with mico SD expansion
5" 1080p dislpay with triluminos tech. Supposedly with constrast ratio above 2000:1
X-reality engine
20MP 2/3" Exmor RS sensor, Sony G lens, mobile BIONZ processor and clip-on lenses
Camera shutter button
3000 mAh battery
Metal + glass body
NFC and LTE
IP58 dust/water resistance + shock resistance rating
Approx 9-10mm thick
Stereo speakers
S-Master MX audio
IR blaster
Headphone port that does not require flap
Magnetic charging dock connector
Lanyard hole
So... quite the list. I'm really curious to know what else you expect in Honami.
IIRC, zomg did state they are looking to be able to put a sensor like the one in the RX100 into next years flagship. So there's room to improve of course, but from what I can tell Honami will crush all the competition on the horizon in terms of specs and features. |

I think we're going to have another situation similar to Z/Zl launch. Smaller phone will be the updated Z with S800 and less capable camera and Honami will be bigger than updated Z, with basically the same SoC but with better camera.
Dimensions that I got are from Honami;
145x73x9mm
Anyway, that would explain all of the confusion about speculating Honami's camera, sensor and some other stuff we can't agree on.

lol, wouldnt expect much from sammy, htc, and lg
sony has always known for optimizing their own software with qualcomm chips better than any OEM manufactures.

Really hoping this is the case and that the photographed device is Z refresh. While I think it's a perfectly fine looking device to be Honami, I guess in my mind I want Honami to look even more spectacular. Of course that is almost certainly a prototype device there so who knows. |

I've edited my post for clarification, but yeah you get the gist of it. |

Hmm, also worth noting as it might have been overlooked with the leaked pics. The original site to leak the photos did indicate the final unit will ship with a xenon flash rather than the LED one shown.

Whoaa its bigger than xperia z with those dimensions i think its impossible to be z refresh. The Z refresh should be the same size as the z with sd800 and triluminos display

Exmor RS on Honami's 2/3" sensor? isn't this this too good to be true?
