When did the world loose it's sense of humour and fun? Does everything have to be so serious?
Who cares if people were talking about food? As far as I can see the mentioning of food was done in good humour, not as malicious goading.
If your so easily tempted by someone typing about food then I suggest you don't read this thread (or anything else in which food might be mentioned).

Well said Scotsboyuk
Chapter 5 Verse 4 from The Holy Quran:
Forbidden to you for food)are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah. that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been partly eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it in due form; that which is sacrificed on stone altars; forbidden also is the division of meat by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

I think its just blown out of proportions.
Isnt 'allah' just making you follow all these rules to prove a point that he has a hold on your life. even though i believe he doesnt exist.
christianity is way more relaxed, our rules focus on things like murder and sex rather than eating the wrong type of food ...

@Vanquish.
First of all, Allah and God is one and the same.
So if Allah doesn't exist, God doesn't. Allah is God just in the Arabic language.
Now, God doesn't want us to prove he holds our lives, he wants us to make most of our lives by bettering ourselves. (yes similar to how the Bible wants you to be a better person)
So at the end of the day, you'd be surprised how the Quraan and Bible are so close alike.
In Christianity you have to fast as well. (isn't that focusing on the wrong type of food during fasting?) Also, it is against Christianity to drink. Isn't that the same rule that focuses on food as well?

Believe what you want to believe but just remember that you have been created for a purpose. Allah is the Greatest, the supreme and to him you will answer on the day when you will have no helpers. Life is short and just think why you are here, the years are flying past and you still have not realised!
Verses 22-24 of Chapter 59 tells you who your creator is:
Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- Who knows all things both secret and open; He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god - the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace and Perfection, the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah. High is He above the partners they attribute to Him.
He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms or Colours. To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Verse 35 from Chapter 24 sheds more light:
Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The Parable of His Light is as if there were a Niche and within it a Lamp: the Lamp enclosed in Glass: the glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! Allah doth guide whom He will to His Light: Allah doth set forth Parables for men: and Allah doth know all things.
Verse 255 from Chapter 2 explains more in detail:
Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what appeareth to His creatures as before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme in glory.

@Falcon786
I apologise if I have misunderstood you, but to be honest I don't think I have. You were making a bigger issue out of it than anyone else to be quite frank. At any rate it really is a non-issue so let's just drop it. Peace and harmony.

I don't get it, why are you guys not eating exactly during the day ? What I also don't get is that you all obey some kind of rules whitout even knowing if it will change something in the afterlife, which I doubt there is one, meaning that it's maybe uselless ... . Not to mention how horrible that feast can be for the body system !!!

um you said "you follow rules without knowing it's affect on the afterlife"
I'll take it in two points. Firstly, how do you know we dont know?
Secondly, we dont believe in an after life.
When we die we go to heaven or hell. simple as that.
Regarding health.
It's not like we starve ourselves :S
If you are sick, you can eat, if you absolutely have to, you can eat, there are many exceptions. (young children dont need to fast, and as you grow you ween yourself into learning how to do it)
We wake up early in the morning, eat a light snack, continue sleeping and when we wake up we dont feel hungry for example.
Here is a link that shows how fasting can be good for your health.
http://www.crescentlife.com/spirituality/diet_during_ramadan.htm
Here is a link that says that fasting is the key to good health.
http://www.ezsoftech.com/ramadan/ramadan13.asp
edit:
by the way, that took me TWO seconds to search on google with the terms "ramadan, fasting, good health?" You can do it too if you feel you are unsure of something.

Proof me there is an afterlife or heaven/hell, you can't so that doesn't make sence .
Btw your TWO seconds of search on google has brought articles based on faith of people but I don't say they are wrong, it can be good/bad for the body but why on this period ? Why you need a specific date to fast while you can do it anytime you want during the year ?
I know some people that are fasting and when it's over, they rush on fastfoods and things like that ...
