Here's what happened to them: they reviewed the phone and they thought it was really, really good.

I'm not sure we need a conspiracy theory to explain it.

Good review but the did say only the centre of photos are sharp the rest is blurred and they said that's not cool.

And you can't have a go at me as Phone arena are the ones saying it.

^ just to correct your manifest tunnel visioning on xperia flaws ... that line was referring to indoor shots, not to all shots of the z2.

still, it doesn't change the fact that your favorite flagship was beaten by a 0.1 point difference.

That's poor though isn't it there's no excuse for the blurring.

The only review I'm awaiting is the one from GSMArena. Unless most review sites they measure much scientific data, share them and you can easily compare it to any other phone.
I'm looking especially for db of the speaker, screen brightness and reflectance, headphone jack quality and the picture comparison (they are like the only people in the world who are able to take a picture of a test chart wtf!).

Z2 did well there but sony need to sort the focus hunting out in the videos I thought they would have sorted that as it was on the Z1.

As a trade off between over aggressive focusing to unstable videos (In 4K) I think I would choose the focus issues rather than video that is almost un usable due to lack of stabilisation and I think most people would agree.

i wonder what happened to phonearena recently. they appear slightly more patronizing to sony now. the details of the review don't seem to coincide with the final score relative to the scores they gave to other flagships. (just being a little paranoid)

I think you will find that the review is being honest & not biased

Really impressed with the low light capability of the Z2 in that comparison. Not so good for the S5 though (which the reviewer describes as "a distant third")

Here's part one of that comparison which compares daylight photos between the flagships:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS3s6Asqe9M&feature=youtu.be

The reviewer has this to say:

"If you want a good camera for broad daylight, then go for either the s5 or the Z2. However if you care about picture quality and the accuracy of the colours, then it's better if you go for the z2, because in my experience the z2 has given me photos which are more closer in terms of colour to the canon 6D, which I am using as a reference here. And the colours looks slighty more natural on the z2 as compared to the S5."

Guys, with the release of Z2 being held for some regions for such long time ( like us ME, we still don't know yet when, but some is saying late May ) and knowing that Z3 might release in Sep/Oct, so it's only 4 - 5 months from now..

So is it okay to pass Z2 to Z3 ?

I don't want to repeat the ARC disaster, it was late by 6 months, and released only after the announcement of ARC S... I thought if ARC is just released how would they release ARC S soon ? so I bought ARC and I was wrong... the ARC S released after 1-2 months of the availability of ARC !!

In the same time, I'm really liking the Z2 + I want to reschedule my Sony phone upgrade for the 1H flaggy
