if all is true, its obviously not a phone. well obviousy it will have phone capabilities.... but you get my point! More or less a 'UMPC' sort of device by the sounds of it

A lot of Tablets shown at Computex in the last few days were running 2.1... And they wont be released until later this year either.
edit: could it be the  /Sony colab device? Vaio
the collaboration surely has to be either a Playstation or Vaio branded device

I can't believe how people are pissed over no 2.2 here when most Android phones still don't have 2.1, and not just SE phones. Hardly any phones have 2.2 yet! And lets face it, 2.1 is still pretty sweet.
This thing looks badass in my opinion, just not too keen on the size! Keen to know more.

But some phones of 2010 will be upgradable to 2.2, yet SE is still on 2.1 or will still be in 2.1 maybe until early next year. I only hope their android 2.1 ~customized ver.~ will support flash.  Do you think this rumored phone will be in the june announcement? |

I'm wondering if this is the product of the collaboration with Sony we were talking about a few weeks ago on here.

Yeah and clean android install too... That should make it easier to upgrade it anyway shouldn't it. So even if no 2.2 was a huge problem, I hardly think it would be a problem for long.

It's clearly a MID not a smartphone. I see it as a competitor to the Sharp IS01 (running donut). I would love to have a such toy

Yep, that thing is definitely going to be my new toy if it fulfills all my requirement(at least 90%).
The only thing I would be worried about is how would I attach this to my bicycle and use it in class
