Im just curious what makes Honami bigger than Z. It is just too long and wide, almost Galaxy Note II like. |

What happened to random?
And what happened to Honami having a huge sensor?
I hope it still has 3000mAh. |

Which unknown are you guys asking about Honami?
I dunno about the sensor size, but the 20MP count is pretty accurate. G Lens. Accessories to attach to the camera so it will be a imaging device (Like add-on lens). |

There is more to this handset than is being let on.
There's obviously a big cover-up on what the back with actually be like, with most of our leak sources here having been hidden from the back and even the camera app being disabled in the FW.
I wonder what is actually going on under there. We could still see a back side like what Maia saw, and this back is just a red herring Sony have thrown in to put us all off the scent. In turn, they could have been throwing the camera side to testers in the camera communities knowing that the two pieces of hardware would actually end up in the same handset, but the leaks would get little cross-over.
Unless someone can set me straight with absolute certainty.

The back looks like a case. The sides don't match up. What's interesting though, is the fact that the "case" has the camera, IR blaster and LED flash embedded. Perhaps the case is designed to show you a fake camera.
You're right, there is a leather case at the back
I like the XZ design, with the Metal Frame, it looks much better

@RickyD.. ha. that would be nice wouldn't it? if this was a "dummy" device to lower expectations or something and then BAM! they unveil honami in all its glory. could be a double edged sword however, if the real device isn't as nice as this or the Z (though unlikely based on what's been said).
i feel like there are a few variants floating around and maybe this one is the least favored and therefore permitted to leak. just a theory.

This is a great post. I too noticed the back looking like a case. It would be interesting if Sony wised up a bit with their prototypes by not being too revealing (just like how Apple and Samsung has a decoy case design in their prototypes).
One thing I'm happy to see is THE MAGNETIC CHARGING PORT!!! |

The only benefits of leaking incorrect info are:
1. Throw the competitors off the scent, let them think you're creating an 'average' device, so they rest on their laurels (only effective if the new device is truly groundbreaking)
2. Create a sense of surprise when the real deal is shown (only works if the device has managed to build a lot of hype before announcement)
Either of these scenarios could be relevant if some of the (vastly conflicting) rumours are true.

That phone is certainly looking interesting! What's more interesting is we don't even know if it IS Honami! lol
Is it Honami? Is it a prototype that'll never see the light of day? Is it a revised Xperia Z?
That speaker on the bottom is massive... REALLY hoping for some quality audio out of it. Can't wait to see what accessory options they bring out to go with the magnetic charging connector. I do wish it had the ability to transfer data too, as that'd open up endless possibilities. Anyways, really hope they continue this dock connector for all future devices.
I must ask though, how certain are we the oval thing beside the camera is an IR transmitter? I mean, how do we know it's not a plasma flash or some redesigned xenon flash?
I do agree with Ricky though, there seems to be more than meets the eye here. Several people here have claimed they were forbidden from seeing the back of the unit and we get leaked pics with the back obscurred by a case. I'm LOVING this mystery Just hope the payoff is worth it. |

It's a C690X that shoots 20MP. What do you think.
My guess Honami = Z refreshed. I looked at a C6906's build.prop before and can confirm it supports America LTE. I must stress it's an early prototype.

So I was wrong a couple of pages ago, seems the back is indeed like the white one posted previously. Right now it does not look that nice yet because its a prototype, pretty sure once this has been finalized it will look great, Sony never disappoints in design.
BTW is that really IR blaster at the back? It kinda looks like plasma flash or that could be me hoping for a better flash .

Any idea what the white blur on the front top-right is? I assume the middle dark blur on the front is the earpiece speaker, but what is the white? Hopefully they haven't put the Sony logo off to one side..? |
