^yeah..
i think it wouldn't be difficult for them to add a second LED to give more power and place it further away from the lens to reduce light bleed.
I think what sony needs to do is be the best in the basics. best screen, best speakers, best camera, and speed/power. this will get reviewers talking and giving it great reviews. then one really wow feature on top of their already top in class waterproofing.

Sony Mobile will also further strengthen the functionality of built-in smartphone cameras, optimizing on Sony's advanced optical image technology

I don't believe that much since they had been saying those things for years. There are a lot of things happening behind Sony's HQ and a statement from a general manager is hard to believe but then, the triluminous technology was spilled by a general manager too so its possible. |

Unfortunately, Sony's Jpeg engine is far from great, even in the new A7II. They actually need someone who develop the OM-D series, who can work magic... the ones who manage to get better software optimization for a m43 sensor to give the same output as a FF sensor.

G flex 2 review
http://www.theverge.com/2015/3/13/8206953/lg-g-flex-2-review
Vlad says no overheating and the cpu is stable, but mentions there is lag in the software which brings up the question, what is to blame the skin on top of Android 5 by LG or perhaps throttling of the cpu in order not to overheat? |

Finally someone realizes! I've been saying this all along, Sony's jpeg engine is just not good to begin with, regardless if it's an Alpha or cybershot. They were notorious for having bad rendering in the photography world. Hence most, including I, shoot in RAW. Love how everyone here ignores that when I mention it and says things like how they wish the Cybershot/Alpha team should develop the jpeg engine for mobile. If they do, it won't be any better.
On a side note, I do wish the Z4 is release soon. My Z1 is practically falling apart..... |

not finally, been complained to the point where no body want to talk about it anymore. My S3 8 mp shots is bigger than my z1, like significantly bigger by 50%. You can tell how much compression Sony has applied to their jpeg. |

I have never been a fan of Sony smartphone cameras but I can see that the Z3 is much better than the Z1 and Z2. |

That's for sure. GSMarena's battery life test is kinda mixed bag if you ask me. They never calibrate the device to a standard nits ( Most techblogs set 200 nit when doing the battery life test ) but this time the result seems pretty accurate. At 50% brightness S6 has 208 nits So we can reach the conclusion that S6 will have mediocre battery life at best. |

I have been criticizing Sony's JPEG engine for a long time. Sony's camera has the worst JPEG engine in the top line camera brand. But nobody really care about JPEG in dslr so Sony get away with their crappy jpeg pic quality. Their poor jpeg engine weakness is repeatedly showing on Z series. I wish they completely write a new jpeg engine for their camera and smartphone. I wish they had the same awesome JPEG engine as Fuji, Olympus. |

@upleaks just tweeted... MTK powered Sony Cosmos, Android 5.0
What do you guys think, possible new mid range device? |

It can't be a high end with MTK, yet. So probably mid range, don't they have enough of mid rangers? I mean M4 is awesome and they should focus on marketing it since it is very competitive with nice specs. M4 aqua, E4, and 3 high end devices plus 2 tables should be enough imo. |

xperia cosmos

looks like a rebranded E4g
for comparism E4g
only difference I can see is the positioning of the front-camera.

Nah, the devices look different, especially the bezel which sticks out a lot more on the E4g
http://www.hardreset.info/dev[....]ny/sony-xperia-e4g-dual-e2033/
This cosmos device has a smaller outside bezel. If you brighten up the image, the thing beside the camera, is it a light sensor? or a flash?
Perhaps this a china only device if it is powered by MTK? |
