just seen this on Techradar
HTC Hero pops up with Android 2.1
Next-gen Googality on HTC's top end phone
After the HTC was confirmed as not getting the 1.6 Android firmware upgrade, it appears the phone has been jumped up to the cutting-edge 2.1.
I thought the first to get Android 2.0 would be Moto Droid? I suspect the Journo means V2
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Nope, the Journo is right... Droid was and is the first with Android 2.0 but HTC are working on an Android 2.1 update for the Hero (with its Sense UI of course)...

Guys, Google will hold back from everyone and mess about with 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1 because they have their own Google phone being tested as we speak. Yes, the Google phone by Google is at the proto stage. Never seen it but its happening. |

lets see what they offer, but b.w the N900 and the X10, ill be purely satisfied, BOTH come with Tmob 3G. i cant wait. |

I think the concept of what I heard of the Google phone is cool, but I hope they don't begin hindering other manufacturers from using ready to use Android builds. |
