I guess still no firmware update yet available? The P990i has been sitting in my drawer for the past 2 months becuase I'm waiting for this update. I'm less concerned with Memory issues myself. I just want the thing to be stable to use without it having to shut down or "Kern" error messages all the time. I would like to get my SMS in a timely manner and not only when the phone restarts.............in other words I just want the basic functions to work!! I guess a few more days than.

Hi all!

I must say there are many of you that are disapointed with your phones. I've had mine for three months now and it has been more and more stable. I don't have any big issues any more. I think it's about getting to know the phone a to know how to negotiate the ram issue. I use several apps at the same time with ease and I think the phone is great. Off course it can be better so I too eagerly wait for an upgrade. I wonder how many out there who are not satisfied with the phone.

@ Discord,
Sorry am in too much pain and meds to try and explain it, all i can say is download the trial Pro version which i think gives you a couple of weeks trial and see for yourself. As i said initially i thought it was geared more towards the P990 but even on the M600 it is a big difference and really is my favourite app by far.

I think SM pro is help a lot, but if you have to pay for something that SE should include in the phone then don't! Only if they wanna pay for that, am i right?
and i think when SE lauch the product, even if it's not perfect is ok for me, at least give us the phone stable enough for daily use... call, SMS, browsing, messenger, and email without much problem.... i think many of mid end phone could do it better....

Why should we buy something that should be included if it is necessary.

@MG7
It won't be "necessary", once has swatted out all the bugs.

@MG7 you shouldn't but that's just the way it is, and I'm sure SE would argue their Task Manger is more than sufficient.

@AbuBasim nothing like a bit of optimism now is there.

@Dogmann,

I have no doubt that will sort things out. A lot of people out there hoping that this will happen ASAP (this week!) but I'm not that optimistic. It will take more than one firmware update before this happens.

Actually I'm pretty satisfied with my phone. It has only crashed once (while fiddling around with my MMR-60) since I bought it two weeks ago.

Maybe SE should allow us to download SM Pro for free by reimburing SM for each download. I would have expected a half baked porduct from Microsoft but now it seems SE (and maybe even Nokia) have followed suit.

@Siandy and others
I fully understand you. It is so obvious that you have real problem with your phone, so how can you be satisfied, simply impossible. But I do feel it should be told about other kind of experience as well. Let me say I represent the happy side of users.
My experience is totally opposite than yours. From the day one my P990 was amazing and astonishing phone and it keeps me amazed and astonished day by day, all in a good sense of the terms. All of it's functions work without a single bug or problem, regular or advanced functions. About multitasking, I don't use Agile m. but I can download big multimedia files via wifi, surf the internet and listen a music at the same time and if necessary send and receive sms. It's up to you to believe it or not. What is also true is that phone looses it's memory during time so after three days I wouldn't be able to send sms in previous example without closing one of opened application. That's why it's necessary to reboot the phone once in a while if multitasking is prioritie. If not it can normaly function for days without crashing or errs.
So I do hope that new firmware will solve RAM issue to a certain degree but also am very, very happy user at the moment.

Knowing SE by now and if the P990 story repeats we will see a statement that delays the new firmware in the last second of the week 48....

Hope at least the new firmware is worth the wait... [addsig]

The other day a friend of mine came to my home with P910. God how I used to be satisfied with that phone. At that time it was the very best for me. So I take his 910 out of curiosity. With all respect to it I can't help myself but say that 910 is a real toy comparing to 990. This P series has practically nothing with previous one it's a totally new dimension. What 910 do has is much, much better multitasking capacity or memory management. We'll see what will new fm bring to us in that field.

hey people

let's not turn this thread into another battlefield of whether the P990i is stable or not; whether we like or hate the current firmware

please let's stay focus.
