CES 2007 is January 8-11 so my guess is that we expect announcement on Monday.

Well as I've said before, I think that some members here know more than they are revealing about announcement dates

Anyway, if you read the predictions for Sony Ericsson in 2007 on many mobile sites, you notice that most of them seem to use the info found in this thread! When they estimate UIQ devices for SE, they use 'around 5', just like what's mentioned in this thread. I reckon that a lot of these sites use us as a source We probably know a heck of a lot about SE's strategy this year.

And on another note, here's some info on some Japan SE phones later this year, courtesy of someone who shall remain anonymous (for now):

Here is the basic specs for a low end fashion 3G phone for NTT DoCoMo, called the SO703i:
2.75" wide display (16:9? or simply QVGA+, which is 240x345)
2.0Mp CMOS camera
Style-up panels (changeable facets)
M2 and microSD dual slot (one slot supporting both formats, similar to SO903i)
External OLED display
105x47x18-19mm 105-115g
color variations: black, silver, white

And the Wx that could record VGA broadcasts is going to be called the W51S. The W51S should be announced between the 14th to 21st of Jan.
Hope dies last - but sometimes, I'm afraid it has to die
BTW, "see" is a good description - you'll see why I say this

CHeers,
Rog.

rog, thanks for confirming my feeling. So no Sofia, no updated K800i, no high end clamshell, no newer versions of the UIQ devices, just the W880i, W200i and some other mid-end/low-end device(s).

So we will not see anything.... but will we then maybe "hear" some nice information?!

Either way..... this means that noone should keep their hopes up high for this announcement as there won't be anything new and spectacular.
now who say's the truth's and who's not
i hope we see sofia soon or maria

@cristiano

I don't think so.. It's yet to be released, and many people say it'll be out in Q4. Well, perhaps, they can announce it in late Q1 and then have it on the market at the start of Q4, but I don't think so.

@thecoolsha

So if we wont see QCIF than what can we expect from video recording this year from
QVGA(well that's almost sure)?
or maybe even VGA?

QVGA is the new standard, but there will be devices recording in higher resolutions, just like W900 recorded in QVGA, while K750 (and K800 for that matter) recorded in QCIF.
