Can any1 help me, I wanna know how to send free MMS via Spartan GPRS.
Guys tell me a site from which we can send free sms to all mobile service providers in india. Please give all working sites.
I hope this is very useful for many of us here. |

You might be knowing that the whole airtel live GPRS is managed by a Proxy server which located on the 100.1.200.99 gateway. The port 8080 is just a connecting port. You can use any port(if it's not blocked in proxy) along with http protocol using the "http://www.webaddress.com:port-number" format. Usually all webservers serve websites using port number 80. SSL uses 443. But all these protocols work even though we used 8080 port in connection settings.
Almost all proxy servers give a special functionality known as "Logs" which records all the web addresses, port requests served by the proxy. So if the Airtel people open these logs, they can see the port numbers. In WAP, people normally use port 80 or 443. So if they find other ports, then they can easily find that the connection is being used for other works.
Even Yahoo! uses other protocol named SHTTP when entering into the chatrooms. Thats why in some regions, Yahoo Messenger doesn't work. LimeWire has it's own specific ports.
That's why I'm requesting you all, don't misuse this precious Free Internet Resource.

this means that even we can also find out(various softwares r there)
the ports which r open so that we have free gprs thru those ports also!!!
(may b those ports may give high speeds as traffic will b low in those ports as all r using 8080)

that people r opening other sites(free gprs) thru apn airtelmms.com(which was used b4 by some 2 access free gprs) and port 8080

3)again, also ,then they must hav discoverd that various other non airtel sites(whole internet web pages) r being opened thru apn airtelfun.com and port 8080, when only live airtel world.com is legally accessible by that apn and port!!!!!!

inspite of thae fact that here in j&k there is no launch of services except airtellive, which can b used to access other non airtel sites like::

Airtel has more than 20 million Subscribers in India. Now just imagine how much data will be stored in log files. Do you expect them to go through it?
But this doesn't mean that you use softwares like Limewire. They have firewall which will give alert.
We must be thankful to spartan, and be happy for what we are getting now.

i hav told already THAT i m not using limewire ,etc,
i hav merely used limewire just 2-3 times even with my tweaked 256 kbps BROAD BAND BSNL connection( giving speed around 2146kbps)
just bcoz i dont like limewire as uses java and that just slows down my system !!!(just f**ks up the system resources ,especially during searches) !!!!!!!

1) You can't see other ports. As I said b4, softwares open other ports over 8080. So it's not possible to open other ports independently. The gateway 100.1.200.99 is open for only 8080(I think).
2) Yes. They found that airtelmms.com is hacked. That's y they blocked it in many regions(firstly in Karnataka)
3) Yes. They know about it. But they left as it is bcoz it's a business idea. Bcoz of this trick, they gained more connections/customers.
4) If they haven't launched MO or NOP in ur circle, then they will take too much care about it. You are safe. |

I Have scan all the ports ( i.e.about 65535 ) for ip- 100.1.200.99 it shows that there are only 4 ports are open
port no. discription
21 File Transfer Protocol [ control ]
25 Simple Mail Transfer
110 Post Office Protocol
8080 Standard HTTP Proxy
These tests are conducted by using ' 1st Ip Port Scanner ' software.

airtel people just refreshed my gprs conn. and changed the port no. to 9201....now all my free previelages are gone and 8080 doesnt work.....

Guys please stop experimenting more on this...
By using Limewire, Port scan, you people are just inviting bad news for us. I request all here not to use Port Scan, limewire, etc software. These softwares gives security alert in their Firewall. Those who are using McAfee firewall will easily understand what am trying to explain. Firewall will detect port scan and log this security alert.
Please all new member's (especially new) stop experimenting on Spartan gr8 discovery. Lets use it for just simple & light browsing. You cannot use this for heavy downloads. For heavy downloads, Limewire I suggest go for Broadband Connection.
