I read on another forum that the unallocated space is used by the MagicGate DRM system.
I purchased a card reader today. When putting the Memorystick into the reader there were no visible unallocated space in disk mananger.
I believe that the phone is not supposed to show the extra space, I'm not sure that the stick will be readable by other equipment if the card is repartitioned.
Found this in the faq at the MemoryStick.com site:
Q9. How can I format (initialize) Memory Stick media?
A9. All Memory Stick media are pre-formatted for optimal performance before leaving the factory. You can use your newly purchased Memory Stick media immediately. If you wish to re-format a Memory Stick at a later date, follow the formatting directions for the device with which you are using Memory Stick media.
[Caution]
· Do not try to format Memory Stick media using the standard Windows format tool (found in the "My Computer" menu).

slead, FAT16 only support partitions up to 2GB, therefore since K750 can support upto 4GB and probably bigger cards as they come out, it obviously can read fat32 (it doesn't support ntfs though)
Windows will automatically format the partition in fat32 if it is larger than 2GB. (unless you select ntfs of course)

After I made a new partition. I inserted the card in a Sony Cybershot DSC-P200. This card is a 7 Mpix. Files are about 3,5 MB. With my card I could take about 1650 pictures. Then my card is about 5GB. Right?
When I insert the card in my W800i, It froze for a long time. Then I had to restart it. But noe my card are only 1GB. I have now 500Mb of music and a lot of other stuff on my phone, and still I can shoot more than 300+ of picture with it.
I wounder if I'm gonna by 1GB duo for my phone, I make a new partition on my Sandisk 512Mb for my camera

@adam526. I've just done my card. Now got 933MB. I did notice when doing it that if you high light the unused portion then there is no x, what you need to do is click(highlight) the active bit then there should be a x. click it this will delette the partion, but make the whole card unused. So then just format it and there you go got a hugh card for half the price |

I also can't get it to work right. Tried copying over some MP3's and the phone can't see them(and yes I know, unplug it from the cable first)
@adam, to get it back the way it came. Just format it in the phone. |

Who here has a 1Gig duo? What does it say in Disk Manager? Does it have unallocated space just like 512 duo's? |
