I have a major problem. Please help me, I'm desperate...

My Nokia 9500 worked perfectmy until last week...

I had to reinstall PC Suite 6.6 on my Xp pro SP 2.

As advised by the Nokia Careline, this is what I did:

1. deconnect DKU-2 from computer
2. deconnect 9500 from DKU-2
3. restart computer
4. uninstall PC Suite and Cable driver
5. restart computer
6. clean registry (also with Nokia Registry Cleaner)
7. download PC Suite from Nokia website
8. disable all virus-, spyware- en adawaredetectors + firewall
9. install PC Suite (without paring -> As they have told me at Nokia Careline)
10. restart computer and check if firewall and other programs are still disabled (they are)
11. start pc suite
12. press "make connection" in right corner
13. when it asks to put 9500 and DKU-2 in computer: connect 9500 to DKU-2 and then connect DKU-2 in USB (at the back of computer)
But nothings happen.

So when I click on the Nokia Connection manager-icon in PC suite I get a nasty message: "Connection to PC Suite failed. Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite. Init SL MC2 notify."

This problem occurs each time when I click on the icon of the Nokia Connection manager in Nokia PC Suite 6.6
So I reinstalled the program on and on, rebooted the phone several times and connected with and without cradle.

Nokia Careline couldn't help me... I'm desperate. Please help me...

I'am using powerdesk from Nokia. It is available for download at the Nokia 9500 Communicator Mobile website.

I tried out PowerDesk from the Nokia site earlier this year and found it slightly crippled in functionality in some areas. I also did not like the visual appeal.

@Baptiste: I have run into so many issues with XP that I have given up on it and reverted to Windows 2000 on my PC. Unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea of how to solve your problem Hope someone else can help you out, mate.

Thanks AYA.
I'm unlucky not to be able to revert to 2000. As I'm using my 9500 for professional reasons I try to reconnect it to my computer at work. It would be quite difficult to ask them to revert all computers here (or just to revert this 1 computer).

I have been away from the 9500 for about a mmonth now. I picked it up again yesterday - and I tell you, nothing else is quite like it. Having used over 30 different phones, and played a bit with even more, that's saying something.

Ogg is an audio file format that has the advantage of smaller file sizes at higher audio quality than MP3 and others. OggPlay is an app for playing it.

@prAnkie: My pleasure. Lest I forget, OggPlay also plays MP3, WAv and a host of other audio types.

By the way, where is JohnM? Dont tell me he has gone and purchased a SE P990i?
