I am very happy with the phone so far. I don't mind the Voda icons - they look quite good on a black background, and much nicer than the ones on my T610. The Voda red logos also compliment the black and silver casing quite well.

Battery life doesn't appear to bad - Mines been running a day now and I have 3.5/5 bars left. Much better than the NEC 606 I tried a year ago, which didn't last a day. The V800 battery is 900mAh, and I can't believe how small it is.

Also, I was pleasantly suprised by the deal I was offered on the phone as an upgrade - cheaper than if I'd bought the phone as a new connection. I guess it must be partly because I've been with Voda for 5 years, I'm 6 months out of contract, and I've had a few big bill recently!

Great !!, I always use theme creator to change my background to black with red/yellow text, good to know its's standard on the V800, last time I checked the lastest theme creator did not cover the V800

Another small reason to get 1

ok! good for you all Voda and orange and what ever network you are in for having the V800. I am a big fan with sonyericsson from T68, T610, P900, S700 (which I am very..very disapointed) so I am hoping that the V800 would be better. I know that it has the Video calling.

I just have few questions for the owners of the V800. comparing it to the S700. How is the screen qulaity and PIC qulaity, vidoe recording...

Also did sony fixed the few problems that it had with the S700. for instance, calling card feature, full screen video playback, adding a Puse in a number that is already in the phone book (editing numbers before calling). camera does not make that horrible sound when taking pictures and of course the blue tooth problem that I am sure almost everyone have read about in this forum. Oh yeah, can you play mp3 as ring tone and put different sounds for sms, mms, e-mail, V. mail msg

Sorry if this post is little long 0:>

Had another play with the phone today......so nice

It's almost xmas so..... merry xmas me !!!

Went for the cheapest price plan, anytime 30 £15.00 per month, phone was £250.00 (ouch). End of year looking at about £430.00, probably cheaper than sim free, though it is locked

I dont use many minutes each month so 30 will do me, and I still get 3 months worth of free 3g content, and of course the phone

Now for the 4 hour charge........

Just for those who don't know

orange top of the range 3g phone at launch will be:

O2's top of the range phone apparently will be a modified one of these, with a slide out qwerty keyboard at the bottom:

3UK have 3 new handsets for christmas(according to 3g.co.uk):

and as most of you know Voda have the sharp 902 as their top of the range 3g handset for quite a while to come:

if everyone already knows this then I do apologise

Vodafone just called me and asked if they could send me a V800 to try for a few days with no committment, no payment, no nothing. Some sort of promotion and if I am happy they will do a good deal.

so after 10 nanoseconds of thought I said YES

it should be waiting for me when I get home tomorrow night

That Sanyo looks horrible. The O2 phone is the XDA 3 - T-Mobile are releasing first, branded as the MDA 3, but neither are UMTS-compatible.

it didn't want to play all MP3's or MP3's without DRM?

Did it by chance give you a message telling you you don't have the proper digital right s to play that ringtone? Because if it did, it's not a problem, it's built in in the software. The two ways to deal with this are:
1. Purchase vodafone ringtones
2. Add Digital rights to your MP3 before setting them as ringtone. Do a search for 'DRM packager' and I'm quite sure you'll stumble across the thread that explains this in a bit more detail.

I've not ever had an S700 so there's no way to compare mate. the screen is good, nice and bright, but definitely smaller than the one on S700. There is a thread with pictures already, go have a look for yourself.

Video recording for me is very smooth and although not a perfect camera it's good enough for my purposes. To make up your mind though, you'd really need to go to a store and have a play with one to test this for yourself.

unless the specs for the v800 have changed, there is an error on the se europe site.
the latest page says the weight of the v800 is 151g.
earlier they had advised the weight to be 128g.
also, the latest page indictes memory of 7MB. Earlier they had said it was 3MB.
i wonder which is correct?

I just weighed it and with battery, sim card and memory stick it is 129g

Adding up all the items listed in memory status is totals around 7mb
