I don't recall the T28 needing drivers and yes, it is a serial-port device. When you access the multiserver thing, set the com port to the one you've got the cable plugged into on your PC. and don't forget to copy all your contacts accross to your SIM before you remove it.

So My Pc Shouldn't detect it and install it as hardware? I aint to hot on this sorta thing but once im going i tend to be okay. I've plugged it into my printer port, i thought my com ports were my usb ports

No prob heppell, thats why these forums are so popular. we all gotta learn somewhere/how. Your PC wont detect the T28 it cos its just a cable. If you follow the instructions on totalserver carefully, when you connect your phone it will be switched off and without the SIM in it so there's nothing for your PC to detect.

You got me worried about connecting it to the printer port though. How you manage that? printer port is much bigger. than serial port. In all, you should have printer port (usually marked LPT1) comms ports (com1, com2 etc) and then the USB's. That help?

k, i had this prob. Disconnect the cable from the phone, put the sim back in, boot it up. Wait till its fully booted and turn it off again. take out the sim, put the battery back in and reconnect the cable but dont turn on the phone. Then try again.

Download the TOTAL Multserver from here: http://www.totalserver.net/downloads/seunlocklatest.zip

Then run the app, enter your username and password (as supplied by Face Off) and download the relevant firmware files through the app itself by clicking on Download Area.

You should receive an email entitled "SonyEricsson Log Details" (at least mine was) which reads:

Quote:

Here is your login for the Total Multi-Server unlocking software, download the latest version from www.totalserver.net/downloads/seunlocklatest.zip

Username: [your username]
Password: [your password]

Please Visit www.totalserver.net for instructions on how to do any function supported by this server

Failure to read these instructions on the site properly may result in lost credits and credits lost this way will not be re issued

Also remember without a valid screenshot of any errors occured we can not offer any support

Mine arrived within 5 minutes of paying. Try dropping a quick email to sales@faceoffmobile.com. Although they did say they're busy at the moment.

In the meantime, use "username" and "password" to log-in for testing and downloading firmware, until your credit arrives.

the best place to buy the cable is from face off mobiles, you know. reason being is cos there is a package that contains the service cable and one full working credit for only 15 pounds altogether. now, isnt that a bargain or wat????

best wishes....

I`m a bit lost here, I can log into the site and download the firmware etc using the default username/passord. When do I need to use the details for the credit I have puchased? Will the server ask me for them at some stage in the process? Sorry if I`m missing something obvious, just don`t want to trash my phone

I have done the original step which costs me nothing in credits, ive now got my creidt, and i am unsure as to which files i actually need to download onto my phone, the tutorial says one thing-but i cant find it, my mobile is on o2, want it in english. Do i need new firmware files as well as language pack and customized ones aswell?
