Thanx anyway! Anyone else know how to solve my problem? And one more question: is it possible to be connected to the internet using my k700 via BT (as a modem), while upgrading firmware? I dont have any other connection to the internet.

Wow, i think i'm safe when i say that it would be impossible to update firmware while connecting through the actual phone. Its the software on the phone that would allow you to connect to internet, so you can't really update that software at same time. With regards to the sync stand, are you sure you have installed the drivers for it, and what joebmc said about opening the COM port is right too. But i highly doubt that you will find a way to upgrade the firmware without connecting to the internet normally.

If I didn't istall drivers it wouldn't work at all. Thanx, I am going to try that adress. I have cllasic dial-up connection, but it is very slow, even only for browsing pages. I am going to get cable internet on spring, but I can't wait till then... I guess, I need to use another phone for connection...

Hmm... just had a thought. Like other O2 users, I'm eager to update the firmware on my K700. Had anybody tried the 'recover' option with an O2 phone? Or any other phone that refuses to update normally...

i have the o2 phone as well, might have to wait for the terminator dongle to support the k700, then flash the phone to SE software, then will be able to update as soon as SE release new version.

Bugger no Z1010 update....
P.s I dont think the server crashed the first time as alot of you seem to think, I believe it was more a trial run. Because its really simple for SE to realise that they sold X amount of K700's and the amount of people who might try to update online will be around about "y" so x+y=xy (xy: SHIT LOADS OF BANDWITH) |

If you look back near the start of the thread you will see that Dovern had the same problem. I just read some of the replys he got and you could try disabling a firewall that may be stopping the popup from showing (or maybe your browser has a popup blocker too). Credit Lembo if this works for you |

you need to make sure you have java run time files installed, best thing to do is visit opera.com and dl a trial version of that and see what happens!
still dont work for me! but hey ho!

best place to get java if you don't have it is java.sun.com. You need the Java Runtime Environment (Latest Version: 5.0 RC)

Hmm am using windows XP firewall at the mo, but i suspect its a Java problem as i was having some issues with this. Any way I had a WinXP Sp1 pc so hooked this up and it went like a dream. Phone had original 1st rel of firmware, even though this phone was purchaced a week ago.
I did contact my nearest service center which is coventry, and they said the site was down even though i toild them its back up. So i purchaced the sync station today.
So i'm a happy man now.
I more then happy to offer to upgrade phones for other users in the Northampton Area. |

By default, XP with SP2 blocks popup and prevents downloading. To turn off pop up blocker: in IE, tools->pop-up blocker->turn off. To change setting for windowx firewall, start->control panel->windows firewall. |

Here is what I found on SE driver page for DSS-25:
Syncstation_DSS_Drivers.zip
File size 0.676 Mb
Download time approx. 2 minutes on a 56k modem
Compressed Archive File (ZIP)
License Free
For system Windows 2000; Windows 98; Windows 98SE; Windows ME; Windows XP
Compatible with P900 ; DSS-25
It is only compatibile with P900! I downloaded drivers, but it still reconize only P900....
