Does anyone know if the brightness of the LCD screen is adjustable on the R2L update? I have the R2A and find that it is way too bright and I think this is one of the reasons why the battery is getting drained quickly. I would like to be able to turn down the brightness to the level where the phone dims the light just before the phone goes on standby & turns the light completely off...it does it only for a couple of seconds. I think if I can have it on this level, standby time should improve by as much as 30%
I bought the phone 3 days ago on O2 (UK) (have previously returned Samsung E700, Nokia 6230 on 14-day peace of mind) and I personally think it is one of the best phones on the market...if only battery....!which currently lasts for about 2-3 days |

Upgraded mine here in the Philippines to R2l. But several files were corrupted, the theme files I just have to recopy them but the tennis game won't start and hungs. I have to turn off the phone to bring it back to normal. It hungs after I select tournament on the menu and switches to the Sega Wow loading screen but nothing happens.
Anybody experienced this? |

@K700iSingapore,
I have the same two that you have. I am not sure if this disconnection is normal or if this is just another bug. Either way, the battery life is now respectable. |

Well I have had R2L001 loaded on my phone all day..and by this time of the day (HEAVY Phone user !!!!!) I would have had to go look for the little old power plug...and today....the beast has just started moving in to the red...looking at the call times (Durations OutBound) on my on-line bill I have knocked up 2.5 hours (Out Bound) today...so a vast step forward from the R2A...
I read last night here on the board about this new software, and rushed out this morning to get it loaded, if the K700 holds up for the rest of the day..then I will retire my Nokia and be fully SE dependand (SEP900 & K700)...oh and BTW Well Done SE for making this happen... 
I'll report back on how the beast is doing...as a heavy user's phone ..lets see my best times up untill now were on a T68i...ummmmm me wonders...

This question has been posted before but there is no answer.
In the R2L, is there a brightness control in the display settings?
I’m asking that coz I heard that in the new FW the screen become brighter, so I’d like to control the brightness of the screen like the T610. |

I'll try to have my K700i upgraded (R2L Firmware) this weekend at Semicon/SM Southmall  I just hope that all is well . . . or else, I guess I'll be needing a new 'paperweight'  ! |

I sincerely hope i get r2l firmware when i pick my phone up tomorrow.I hope it's free of charge as well,i failed to ask the assistant(carphone warehouse).does anybody know if they charge for this service?

@JN - i tried upgrading a k700 just yesterday @semicon mega, they said R2e is their latest. besides that, they would have to keep the unit for 3-5 days since they would send it to semicon main for the flash. i called in semicon podiun and north edsa and they said the same. i guess it would be best if u had it upgraded over SESS since they have the R2L and u could w8 4 ur fone...

hi. where did you have your K700i upgraded? is your phone a warranty unit or is it the ones from greenhills? how much did they charge you for the upgrade? my K700i has chinese characters on the keypads and SESS in makati doesn't accept K700i with chinese characters on the keypads for upgrade. semicon main office in pasig said they could give it a try but there's a possibility that the phone will not work after the upgrade. do you know a sony ericsson service center that upgrades K700i in any language pack? when i check the firmware of my phone it says taiwan. i've seen some phones with hongkong and asian_latin? what's the language pack of your K700i? thanks. |

Both of them are K700 with chinese things in the keys, one is R2A and the other is R2L, I took it to SE center to flash and cost me $10. Both are in warranty!!. Nothing wrong will happend after flashing them. You can see the R2L is brighter!!.

Hi everyone,
Notice some problem with the R2L...
1. The pic caller id only works for the mobile number and not for other cat eg. work, home..
2. The call history ALL seems to have the sequence messed up...
I'm wondering if its my phone, the R2L or has it been like that the whole time... anybody have that problem too...?

c. The LCD dims off after 10 sec of playing video with no way of turning it on back to the "brighter" state... this wasn't there when i had the R2A.
