Anyway, Nokia devices are manufactured with Siemens machines in Komarom, Hungary. At least a friend of mine working there says so.

nearly as gd as z1010 but for the screen and size of it.
theres this which is better but minus the exandable memory:

i don't know if or where these phones have been released. theyre quite old but havnt heard much about them in the uk.
EDIT: sorry forgot to add i think z1010 beats both siemens designwise, tho the second one is not bad looking.

how about the SX1 on seimens side. Out b4 the k700 with radio and sd-card slot. shame about the sh*t design...obvious taking design tips from nokia...very bad move IMO!

The SX1 is the same phone pretty much as the 6600. Nokia beat them to it.
Isnt that U10 the same phone as the NEC e313, they're almost identical, and as ugly as each other !

Still both came out before SE puts out anything which can compete. Isnt ur point that siemens is slow to release handsets with up to date technologies? So Siemens cant be that slow....well at least not as slow as SE on some things! Siemens also has a 1.3Mp camera phone lined up just like every other phone manufacturer. Theyre not as popular as SE, Nokia, Samsung and Moto but technology wise i think they've pretty much caught up with the crowd. Havnt converted to clamshell yet tho...not sure about the Xelibri (or however u spell it) section. |

Actually they are further behind. AFAIK SE never intended to release a Series 60 based handset to compete with the 6600 or SX1. Instead SE have the P900, which rivals both and is better at what it does.
Theres no point in SE releasing a Series 60 based smartphone, as it would rival their own UIQ handset.
All three are smartphones, and theres no doubt the P900 wins in terms of functionality. So, the SX1 being the latest phone out does show how far behind Siemens are.
Its not that Siemens are slow at releasing their phones, they are slower to adopt new technology. In comparison, SE arent slow in using new technology, but they do take far too long to release new handsets after they are announced.

Doesnt the Siemens SX65 count as a smart phone? Dont ask me how it stacks up against the P series tho...im not familiar with P series specs...i kno that the SX65 is the same as the 02 XDA- and runs Windows Pocket PC Phone. No camera but its quite old and i dont know whether theres a follow up.
Dont the 6600 and sx1 target different markets than the P series. P series being more PDA like and larger. So siemens chose the small symbian smart phone and the very PDA like SX65, SE took the middle ground.

IMHO, SE phones are more durable, have a more stable system and have higher resale value, and a little more expensive than their Nokia counterparts.

In terms of durability, SE is much better. Basically nokia makes only fancy looking phones.

SE develop their own products, not simply stick their logo on something another company made..
The SX65 is the exact same phone as the original XDA. Both the XDA and XDAII (MDAII, Q-Tek and many other names) are made by Taiwanese company HTC. So, it doesnt count as Siemens didnt develop and manufacture the technology themselves, they simply used another companies product and stuck their label on it.
Both the SX1 and 6600 target the business market as does the P900. However, the special bit to remember concerning the SX1 and 6600 is that they are also targetted at the common user. All three however are classed as smartphones, with the SX1 being the last out of the starting blocks.. again.
As for the SX2.. or SX45 as its known over here - who cares ? Its obviously aimed at the same high-end business market that the XDAII is aimed at, yet look at the specs (taken from my-siemens):
RAM: SX45 (32mb) XDAII (128mb)
CPU: SX45 (150mhz) XDAII (400mhz)
Freq: SX45 (dualband) XDAII (Triband)
GPRS: SX45 (no) XDAII (yes)
Looks like its behind.. again !
Go Siemens !
