T610 and HBH-30 crackle noise problem |

Just got my T610 updated with R1L and now my HBH35 seems to work fine. Also the phone works snappier and it connects correctly to the headset almost all times. Will also do a master reset in the coming days to see if that makes it any better. For now, it's good. |

Hey mefkey, I have the both the headset HBH-30 & 35 and R1L firmware. But the crackling sound is still there at times. For all I know, there is no firmware upgrade for the headsets. I'm just wondering how come you don't have a problem with the crackling "sickness". I think i'll be taking the phone and the headsets to a service centre coon. Cheers

Hey!
Found this while reading review of the Plantronics 3000 at mobile.burn:
QUOTE: "The HBH-60's tendancy to sometimes add echo for the remote person, though, did show itself. The M3000 never seemed to have this problem." END QUOTE.
This would suggest that it is the headset(s) fault and not the phone?
Even if i have no problem with my current HBH-30, except that BT-dongle sometimes says that it has no handsfree services available.
I will try the Plantronics if i get the chance!

I use t616's on my hbh-30, all the time and only have crackles when the phone is very far away, >50 feet, or is bing blocked by something thick ie: in another room. hbh -->R3b Quite honestly, I have better :bt: reception on my t616's than on my t68i's |

I received my headset and handset back from today with a covering letter saying that my HBH-30 was at fault, and they have replaced this with one from their stock which was another HBH-30. They said both have been tested and paired and work to Specifications.
Guess what......... The crackle is 10 times worse!!!!!!!!!! And drops connection more often!
Apon inspection, the headset they sent me as a replacement was manufacturered in 02W20 the one i sent them was manufactured in 02W51
My guess is they have replaced this with a second hand one.
If they were both tested together they must have been tested by one of their deaf technicians
I'm now going to give them 48 hours to come up with an acceptable solution or i'm going to watchdog, and Trading standards

SE customer services strike again!
I'm sure we'd all be better off sending our phones off to London Zoo for the monkeys to play with. Think they'd be more likely to fix them than SE/Celestica!
I know we all slag off Nokia's, but on the rare occasion I had to send one of my old 3210/8210's away for repair, it was back within 3 days and worked perfectly again. SE take note!!!!

Typical
And SE were trying to tell me how good and efficient Celestica are !!
as far as i "know" my T610 has gone direct to SE, but I suspect this may not be the case and it may be with the cowboys at celestica (oh god i hope not)
Still just over a week to go before I get mine back..(sigh)

What's annoyed me even more is the replacement HBH-30 is second hand! Its scratched and has a lot of inground dust in the grooves where both halves of the casing meets!!
I've just sent them another letter, saying they either swap my phone for a brand new one with Hardware revision R4B or later ( these dont appear to have the problem) and a NEW headset, or give me a refund for both my handet and headset (Totalling 480 pounds). Or i'm taking my case to trading standards, AND will set up an online petition for everybody who's experiencing this problem and forward the petition and my case to the TV program Watchdog.
I'll keep you all posted
Watch this space..........

I have had my T610 for a month or so and yesterday inherited a HBH30 headset and susrprise surprise the audio quality was absolute cack. I tried it with my T68 and the audio was excellent.
Today I spoke to Orange - who supplied the handset - and got the response 'we don't support Bluetooth', hmm.
Spoke to SE and they didn't exactly give the impression that they weren't aware of the problem and suggested I go to my nearest SE service centre (which is in Blackpool) and update the handset software.
After reading all this board I wasn't full of confidence.
I went down there this afternoon, they did the software upgrade while I waited - 20 minutes - and hey presto I have a virtually crackle free headset.
Not quite as good as my T68 but ok if I didn't know better.
Handset is now: R1L013
Headset is R2F

Your one of the lucky ones!
Is the audio quality good? Or are you finding it pretty muffled?
