Some time ago, a rumor came out on sumahodigest that Sony would be the first brand to implement Android 16. Will it be so?
obviously, that can't be true. google is always the first brand to implement new android versions on their phones. i would imagine samsung would be next since they have such a huge market share, they probably have been working on it for awhile now.
I would be happy if sony started pushing android 16 before the end of summer.
The article talked about the first producer after google on its pixels obviously. I'm not very confident either....but who knows. |

Android 15 was officially launched for Pixel devices on October 15, 2024.
My 1 VI received Android 15 November 16, 2024.
And my 1 V received Android 15 January 16, 2025.
So maybe we will see 16 for 1 VII late July or early August.
My 1 VII has left Japan this morning and I expect it to arrive within a week. Then you never know how long it will take to be processed by customs.

WOO HOO!
i'm envious of you guys and your new VIIs. especially you Maratonmannen with the 16GB model.
The notification about august shipping time for the 16GB model on the sony japan site is no longer being displayed. perhaps they caught up with production?

Nice point out! I didn't notice it on the sony japan page cause it isn't on the actual item page. it's only on the popup at the bottom where the price is listed. I was so focused on looking at the item page, i didn't notice the popup at the bottom. hah.
woo! that's great news. gotta get in touch with my people.

The materials used for the VC differ between 1 VI and 1 VII.

Sad event: last night the phone suddenly turned off: it went into a loop 3/4 times and then turned off completely. Charging it was no use (it was already at least 70%), only this morning at yet another attempt it seemed to turn on and then immediately turned off again. I read on sumaio about other episodes of this kind. |

Sorry to hear that.
Hope there is a solution.

on reddit other users with the same problem. the solution is that tomorrow I send the phone back to wondamobile for warranty inspection. |

yikes. that's not good. did you recently install a new app? or get a new update?
perhaps one of those was the issue. hopefully it's not a hardware problem. but it's nice that wondamobile is willing to take it back for warranty purposes. that is good peace of mind, even if it is a bit inconvenient.

as i wrote, i received a whatsapp message containing a link with google maps coordinates. But i didn't open the link, nor did i open whatsapp. Simply, as soon as i heard the message notification sound, i unlocked the phone with my fingerprint. And it started to reboot. And then it turned off completely and forever. |

With customs you never know.
My 1 VII spent 2 days in Japan export customs and now it´s stuck in Swedish import customs since monday morning. That´s what I see when I track the shipment with Japan Post.
When I track it with my Swedish app, the latest info is that "The transport of the shipment item has started in the country of the sender."
Not a word from Swedish customs, just dead silence.
